I've been wearing Carolina boots for years. I've had several different styles over the years but these are my favorite.

Are you sure you need work boots? Not much work in those 7-8 years it seems. I work offshore and sit at a desk 50% of the time and a pair of "work boots" only last me six months.... LOL! Just giving you shite bruh! Old school Red Wing Pecos for the win.

I like the Timberland Pro boots as well. Have had a few bears. No break in which is really nice.

That said, an Iron Ranger isn't a great choice for what the OP wants. I'd just get a steel toe Keen for what he described.

Agreed on the Iron Rangers. I have two pairs that Ive had for close to 20 years and love them, but I wear them mainly for office work and going out (look damned good with cuffed selvage denim). The flat soles aren’t ideal for outside work in my opinion because they’re pretty slick in wet conditions. I’ve about killed myself stepping on a wet cross tie while in the yard. Don’t get me started on wearing them in ice/snow.

The best boot for that situation would be JK OTs in either 6 or 8 inch depending on your preference and with the Vibram Honey sole.

I wear Timberlands and Thorogoods. I have several pairs of work boots and rotate them daily. Even on days when I walked alot the day before my feet are comfortable because each boot rubs and stresses different areas.

Whites

Whites are another victim of corporate acquisitions. They absolutely suck for the money now. Just look into their employee turnaround numbers. Ain't nobody working there long enough to claim boot making skills.

Nicks 8” flex pros with the honey vibram sole. Best boots I’ve ever owned by far. Probably more boot than the op is looking for though.

Look up a YouTube channel called Rose Anvil, he cuts boots and shoes in half with a bandsaw and professionally evaluates them based on their full construction. Lot of big names are just overpriced junk.

I’ve seen that channel. I was pretty fascinated when he cut open the Vietnam era jungle boots.

Looking at that same sole. Seems like it would grip on snow and ice, no? Seems like a good all around for any condition,

The guy's been wearing sub-$100, glued together boot-shaped shoes for 7 years and they've done the job. Clearly the only suitable replacement is a custom PNW logger that costs $600 and will take him 2 years to break in.

I wear the twisted X square toe/soft toe waterproof. Wore them for years and they quit making them for a long time but I guess they started making them again because I bought a new pair last year.

I use for general working around the yard and ranch so no need for steel toe.
