Ha. They finally changed my area of Florida to does whenever. It used to be only 2 weekends a year. So damn stupid and so many “legal” bucks got killed because Joe Blow had to work that weekend, or it rained, or it was 100 degrees and does were nocturnal.

Catahoula. She has bayed before. She just totally lost interest 200 yds in. Little disappointed in her but the deer was on its feet 1000 yds away. It also crossed property lines. We also waited a few hours after it was shot. Mainly hate we didn’t find it.
Went and tracked cousin’s kid’s buck this morning. Dog gave up pretty quick. Cuz kept on the trail and jumped it 600 yds from first blood. We think it was a brisket shot. For the more seasoned deer trailers, do you think the dog knew it wasn’t dead? She’s done this twice in the last few years. Only deer she hasn’t recovered.
Agreed. I wouldn’t drop some Chinese bs plastic tree in my lake. PVC is one thing, the china plastic tree sounds like pollution to me. Throw it in a dumpster.

Broke in the new rifle. Got a 100 plus pound doe. Shot low and a little back. Damn thing ran almost 100 yards and crossed the creek. Dog was on it. I didn’t even have a flashlight. My buddy jumped in to action and came to help. He proceeded to back into his wife’s friends car. shite show for sure. Dragging deer 100 yards through vines and mud is a young man’s game. I may go downshifts route and shoot a cannon from now on.

Kid should be shooting a 12 gauge if he can whip his dad already. New benelli when he takes pops wallet from him.

In a leaner behind my house N Fl
12 gauge
It was a long day running dogs. Nothing killed or even shot at. Everybody is exhausted. Kids in their skivvies. I had to come sit for the last bit of cool weather we will have in north Florida for the foreseeable future.

Headed to my dog running camp
12 and 20 gauges
Missed my departure time by an hour. Oh well 7 and 3 year old in tow. Still have donuts to pick up.
32 degrees dog should work all day and we are early for lunch
I quit dipping 15 years ago. I was around 10 cans of Copenhagen snuff a week. I quit when I had the flu. Only way I could. I looked up and had been over a week. Times I tried before I got headaches and gave in. I hope these things don’t just create more addiction.
Only tobacco causes the cancer?
His kid played or plays at Georgia. He was also getting paid by South Carolina? He knows defense and knows the south. He’s knows where and how to ID defensive studs.
Love the update and remember your original post. My boys are now 7 and 3. I feel time slipping by every day. I’m a very blessed man. I really wish I could just stop time right now.

I’m getting one for Christmas. My 7 year old is hooked after watching the calling videos. I’m a little worried I may not be able to use it on our farm. I’m afraid the damn bears may out run the coons getting to the call.

I had a chicken named cat food. It would run to the neighbors house and run off his cats. It was wild as hell with crazy eyes. It stayed partially molted looking. I’d get an egg every now and then in the bunch that was a little fishy. I always blamed it on cat food.

That’s awesome. What call are they using. I may never deer hunt again.

No does for me or bears. Cousins buck only ran 30 yds. Easy track but took the dog anyway. Went to dog running camp for lunch and would have killed a big doe if I wasn’t playing with my gps. Nothing but close calls this year. Headed home to a house full of sick kids and wife. I may run this old truck off a bridge.

My cousin in law has a tag for our farm. We have a ton of bears. He never really hunted before so I helped him sight in his rifle and we shot a good bit. He smoked a doe opening weekend so I think he’s hooked. He’s across the farm after a bear this morning. Different cousin just texted he shot at a deer. Not sure if hit. Knowing where he is sitting it’s a good one. He’s getting coffee and going to see if any blood. My dog has been requested. I need a doe to come out promptly.

North Florida
45 degrees. Heavy fog slight ssw wind
Tikka 308 with a can
Hoping to christen the new rifle. Have seen nothing but young bucks this season. Had 10 does on camera on the edge of about a 30 acre picked peanut field last week. First grown one will get it.

I’m a cat man. I love my 308 alley cat. It’s stupid quiet on 300 black Cva scout with subs. It’s also real nice on 308 bolt with supers. I want the rdm alley cat so I don’t have to switch it between guns. I envision deer hunting and choosing which rifle based on distance.
Central Florida stud. Poor bastards don’t have much habitat left down there.
