Those guys trickle in from time to time, but as a whole the OB is looked upon as the place to get legit advice on all things outdoors.

Hope varmint threads stay over here. When I couldn't get rid of my in-town coons, the OB directed me to lethal air rifles.

This change smells like a request an advertiser would make.

Also smells like he’s gonna lose a good bit of traffic to the site

But it is an OT for people with common interests. We don't traffic in pop culture and the 24hr news cycle, but are salt of the earth gents with a different perspective from the mainstream. That encompasses hunting and fishing, camping, hiking, gardening, doing things with our hands (home improvement, woodworking, auto work, etc...). We live from and appreciate the land in a different way. And we are happy where we are. I feel like you're splitting up the family. Dont do it chicke

The more I think about it, the more I don’t like it. 90% of my time on TD is spent on the OB. There’s a reason for that.

Exactly.

Although I probably split my time evenly between the rant and OB.

But almost all of my non-LSU time on tigerdroppings is spent here because I can find damn near everything I’m interested in here

I think if there was a large volume of traffic then a different board would be warranted. As of now I don’t see it as a problem because it doesn’t seem like too many threads get lost in the traffic and usually everything is decently related.

If there did become another board I feel like one (possibly both) would grind to a halt and hinder the flow of information that passes through.

At the end of the day it is your baby though and do what you feel is best.

A lot of the discussions on here about lawn care are closer in relation to food plots, farming, and forestry than long range target shooting or general political gun conversation is to hunting.

Like others have said, it’s a far less sarcastic version of the OT with mostly like minded individuals who give real advice, many of which don’t venture outside of this board.

The OB is the only board I visit on TD. Listen to the people. Don’t change it up

Isn’t the solution to slightly expand the intended reach of the Outdoor Board? I don’t post a ton on here, but man, I have gained some super valuable insight while reading.

I don’t think anyone on this board would complain if you included other things. I’d never advocate for a name change, but at the least, this board is the last bastion of “I want to work and do shite myself, while enjoying the hell out of it,” place.

This place is Last Man Standing and Home Improvement rolled all up into one. Tim Taylor would approve.

Good call cluckster. People come to this board because there are some posters that know their stuff and the BS is very minimal. Be good to separate the weeds from the fish though.

culture of this board is perfect for lawn and garden threads
i will take that under advisement. I still contend that this board must stay true to the original reason for it being created. And if it doesn't, it just becomes another OT.

Well a good garden thread works on the Food Board as well.

Why not just change this to Outdoor and Garden Board? I’m not growing tomatoes in the living room.
