With all due respect and acknowledging you own the land we are leasing here, this is a bummer. This is a great board with a diversity of topics, backgrounds and knowledge. A bunch of good people here. Formation of the H&G board will dilute it.

It is acknowledged that the “outdoor” board covers more than the pure play of hunting, fishing and directly related topics. Pretty much anything to do with hunting, fishing, guns, land, Clyde Tiptons pond, weapons, trucks, tractors, coolers, heavy/light machinery, tools, etc. is discussed on this board. There is a shared mindset or outlook of most folks that visit and participate in this forum. I regularly learn new stuff here, most of it I don’t have a direct connection to.

You are going to have to do a lot of navigation to separate the boards as you are likely to get a lot of chafe with directing topics and posters to the proper board.

Playfully, maybe a users guide of boards where we now go to argue over Stihl v Echo, Chevy v Ford, Honda v Yamaha v Polaris and on and on and on is required reading.

If those who sought answers would just look at the threads devoted to those certain topics instead of posting new threads every time, a lot of that would go away.

I hunt in my backyard all the time, and I know I’m not alone in that, so lawn threads belong here.

Of all the boards you could create, this is the one you are doing? Home and garden fits perfectly with this crowd.

I agree...when I think of the Outdoor board I dont just think hunting and fishing. A baw that hunts and fishes probably also does the yard work, the pond, the ice chest, the pew pew pews, grow food, hunter gather type stuff.

I dont think those post are out of place but I also see where your coming from...this is your house we play in

Thank you. The "what kind of weed is this" and "should I fertilize" threads bore me

You could just not open those threads if they bore you.

Does most lawn care and gardening not occur outdoors?

If it matters, I don't read most threads that involve lawn info, but occasionally skim through one, and almost always learn something when I do.

Highly unlikely that I'm going to go to another board only about lawns and gardens.

Carry on as you please, as you're the captain. Maybe you'll pick up some older ladies that enjoy working in flower beds.

And put that damn ball python thread in the garden too.

We don’t need another board.

The culture of this board is perfect for lawn and garden threads and I’ll be sad to see it leave

Why can't it stay the way it is? Who is complaining? Most OB people help each other out with home and garden questions.

I respectfully believe that more focus on the Tiger Rant's ridiculousness would be warranted before worrying about the outdoor board. But what do I know?

I think auto and woodworking would fall under home and garden
