Buc-ee’s 2.0? This is why we can’t have nice things?
Will Elon pull out? His pull out skills are famously weak but he may make an exception with crazy LA.

A citizens group and three residents sued the Vermilion Parish police jury and a newly revived industrial development board Monday, alleging they repeatedly violated Louisiana’s open meetings law while advancing SpaceX’s planned $100 billion spaceport.
The suit says the police jury revived the Vermilion Parish Industrial Development Board, inactive since 1997, at a July 15 meeting. On Aug. 25, the board approved a payment-in-lieu-of-taxes agreement with SpaceX tied to a 25-year property tax exemption estimated at nearly $24 billion. The agenda referred to the deal only as “Project Osprey,” a code name the suit says was used so that “even if a member of the public happened across the meeting notice, they wouldn’t know what the meeting was about.”
After the vote, according to the suit, an unnamed lawyer urged everyone to “take a second to savor the history that was literally just made,” in a room with no members of the public present. The attorney for the plaintiffs, William Most, said that he had obtained a recording of the meeting. The petition filed in the 15th Judicial District Court asks a judge to void the actions the industrial development board took at that meeting. It also asks the court to award damages, court costs and attorney’s fees.

People complain about this state never going anywhere.
Then people do shite like this.
SpaceX is coming. These idiots are just making an arse of themselves. Go sit in the corner and pout while the real men change the world.

Probably a group of democrats, they think this is another way to "stick it to Trump".

so some commie, tree huggers got three low IQ residents to join them in a lawsuit? Typical. I've watched this same thing happen countless times a new project is announced on the Mississippi River between BR and NOLA. Probably some pinkos from Tulane with no actual ties to Louisiana or any interest in the state moving forward.

Hope not! At the state level, they (for once) saw this kind of thing coming from a mile away. Surely they passed something that will stop this in its tracks and give them no grounds to sue. Hope so anyway.

Disney world denham again.
Too much money to stop this one though.

I think it is fair to expect public officials to be open to the public regarding matters like this.
Signing NDA’s and operating in the shadows sure doesn’t seem in keeping with the expected transparency.
If this development is truly as good for the area as claimed, it should be done in the open.

Right. People on here always complain about lack of transparency, and deals behind closed doors in Louisiana politics, as they should.
They purposely tried to fool the public about the meeting by giving it some sketchy code name so the public wouldn't attend. But its ok because its SpaceX.

I do not think a court would overturn this massive of a project over violations of some pretty simple procedures.

Looke for it on Clerk Connect. Did not see it.

Yes. Louisiana is one of if not the only place in the US where he can launch things that orbit the earth E/W around the equator or N/S over the poles.

I have no issues with SpaceX coming and it will be a good thing.
Was this like a last minute someone forgot to do something type of thing? Need some sort of explanation for this, even if its dumb.

Loozeeeana shooting itself in the foot once again.
Stupid is as stupid does it seems.
