re: Would you be in favor of every traffic light in your city being replaced by a roundabout?

Carmel, Indiana has installed 150 roundabouts over the last 30 years.
Lots of info out there on how it has improved things. Reduced crashes by something like 80%.
Not to mention fatalities are DRASTICALLY reduced at roundabouts vs conventional intersections....but people in BR don't want facts..they just want to bitch about things they don't or can't understand. See "Pecue Lane".
Roundabouts are the shite. If you don't like them, you are simply retarded.

Well we live in Louisiana so yes, we are by and large very unintelligent.

Such a well done intersection/interchange

If I lived in Mayberry, sure, not in a major city, though.

Roundabouts suck for extremely busy intersections

Conway Arkansas is the worst. It might not be so bad, but drivers are not the brightest there.

As in most things, size matters. Roundabouts forced into an urban intersection are too small to use properly.

How are the Chargers and Altimas going to blow through a red light if we get rid of traffic lights?

We just had three roundabouts installed at the interstate exit near my house. Used to have a light and two stop signs. Constant wrecks and congestion. My daughter was one of the wrecks (fender bender).
People complained about the roundabouts but it’s been great. Once folks understand the flow and the rules, it works well.

Getting in and out of Lexington via I64 can be rough.

They have this not very far from where I live…

Yes! Signals cause delay and half the time people are not paying attention and drive right through a red light.
Posted on 8/21/26 at 12:36 pm to cbree88
I’d take that, and then I’d drive only when absolutely necessary for the first 6 months, to give the incompetents time to remove themselves from the road.

Roundabouts work in some situations, but not all.
