Not every traffic light and also not where traffic volume is high such as the center of an urbanized area, which leads to congestion.

Definitely not at big intersections but I like them at smaller ones where a light or even a stop sign would be.

They do seemingly work much better than lights. I'd be in favor where it makes sense.

How about the 7-circle roundabout in Swindon?

Friend,
Roundabouts are a far superior traffic pattern to perpendicular thoroughfares with lights. Even if lights are needed for the roundabouts, as they are at large intersections in the UK, the time and safety benefits are immense. It is embarrassing, quite frankly, that America is stuck in the habit of a far inferior system.

Dumbass drivers here don't know how to use one
There is a double roundabout at one of the I-85 interchanges near me. They were built for two lanes but opened about a year ago with just one lane open.
They just recently opened the second lane in each, and even with signs and arrows painted on the road, I'm waiting for someone in the right lane to ignore the right/straight arrows and decide they need to go on around and smash into someone going straight in the left lane.

Most but not all. It depends on traffic volumes which is the better fit.
I am a civil engineer. I appreciate the people who liked the lobdell one and the diverging diamond interchange at Pecue. I worked on both.
We need more access control primarily on fixing our arterials , possibly some single point urban interchanges, more roundabouts and BR traffic.

I find a lot of people struggle with two or three lane roundabouts. That being said, I wouldnt trust myself with a 7 lane in London

The nearest light to me is in front of a school. It would be an absolute shite-show when parents are dropping off and picking up kids. Most of the lights in the area are on a fairly congested highway and I doubt most of them would work out well. For low traffic side street intersections - absolutely.

Having a dozen roundabouts within a mile or 2 of my home, no.
I'd 100% support AI controlled stop lights tho.

Unfortunately the Boomers and NIMBYs in my area throw a shite fit when the city talks about putting some in.
That or they build the roundabout, but plant 4' tall bushes all around and in the middle of it so you can't actually see anyone coming up to it and have to stop anyway.

Carmel, Indiana has installed 150 roundabouts over the last 30 years.
If I could work and live there I would’ve left years ago. Love that city.
