Third person over the shoulder camera Action/Adventure genre As much or more movie than game, lotta painfully slow "story" moments where we learn about the protagonists past and demons, blah blah Lotta forced walking/talking segments with NPC's Almost all the development time spent on animations, voice acting, motion capture, story Extremely hand holdy, constantly telling you where to go and what to do at all times All the "big" set pieces are completely on rails, bombastic over the top presentation sizzle with almost no real gameplay Couple "hide in the grass" stealth sections
They’re called MOOVIE games.
You walk slowly while characters talk about feelings.
Then you watch cutscene and get excited for next cutscene.
Don’t forget to press R2 to continue cutscene.
The genre existed for a bit before The Last of Us, but the success of that game is where the genre mutated into the MOOVIE game virus that has plagued gaming ever since.

Norse saga GoW fans can finally experience God of War without any of that pesky gameplay getting in the way. Those guys sure do love their cutscenes.

Fantastic! I never would have believed that we’d be able to get rid of both Harry and James Corden.

These 18 Wheelers Are Out of Control
Posted by SonicAndBareKnuckles on 8/18/26 at 1:56 pm
I've strongly suspected that 18 wheeler accidents have risen sharply from previous decades, and this week has not only solidified my belief, but has shown that things are out of control.
Yesterday afternoon, an 18 wheeler took out a power line, and knocked out the power from 3:00 to 6:00. Hottest part of the day, great timing.
I go to work this morning and get stuck in traffic because an 18 wheeler went off the highway, down a steep bank, and crashed into the woods. Two huge tow trucks were trying to pull it out when I went by.
Coming home for lunch, the truck had been removed. Nice.
I drive less than a mile further, and another damned 18 wheeler has crashed! This one going in the other direction on the highway.
It was hauling livestock and crashed into the median barrier. Hope the cows are okay.
Three 18 wheeler crashes in a small town that I've been affected by in 20 hours. :banghead:
Rant over, truck nuts ON for the towing companies.
