Westlake Golf Course? Moss Bluff has been building neighborhoods for decades, Ragley growing, Iowa, etc

Corner of Tenth St. and 3rd Ave 10th grade on. Before that lived in Vinton and we had commuted to Lake Chuck after St Joseph/s school closed So I went to ICS then Landry Jr High/High We finally moved to Lake Chuck then (no one wanted to buy a home in Vinton back then)

I know Lake Chuck is doing work with LNG and new processes... my operations buddy is working at a plant on a cheaper, safer and faster way to process... it's been very successful according to his account... if he's right, they're going to be doing very well in the future

However they dust their crawfish, and i have a big problem with that

Westlake had almost all of their no so desirables areas towards mossville bought out and then the golf course neighborhood has brought lots of positive growth. the finishing of the neighborhoods out by the salt water barrier helped a lot too. Lots of upper middle class families moved in and the schools are better than ever. then you have the water park that just finished. lots of positives


sulphur and especially carlyss has experienced lots of positive growth. tons of new subdivisions have been built.

as far as LC, again tons of new neighborhoods built in the last 5-8 years. Graywood is got tons of houses going up, east over by mallard cove has tons going up(not just dr horton houses, look at waterside area) then you have the sallier corridor that has lots of activity. plus tearing down the projects on lake st helped a lot too.

Lake Charles needs some serious infrastructure upgrades to happen in the area for it to really take off. The whole area needs to be able to absorb another hurricane like Laura and not be out of power for a month.

Another Exit on the EAST side of Lake Charles, connecting to hwy 27 heading south. 4 lane all the way. Connecting back up to 27 on the west side of the lake 4 lane all the way. This can be funded with Venture Global Tax Dollars.

The airport could use a terminal upgrade.

Local politics are starting to remind me of north LA politics. Lots of protectionism. I guess I miss ol' Willie Mount.

bro...there is not a single city in america that can handle the main transmission lines being snapped. but they were all upgraded after laura.

but thats why it was a month.

agree, wouldnt be a bad idea but thats not stopping the area from growing and that is state and outside of the city limits. its a state highway though and doesnt have a ton to do with local politics

agreed if you are talking more flights but you have to have the demand. its always going to be hard to have that demand when houston is 2 hours. only upgrade you would need is that though. if you are talking size or anything like that because there is no need for anything bigger than what they have currently unless they can secure contracts for more flights, why would they build something that will not be used?

oh yea we made so much progress under aunt willie.... :rotflmao:

come on. I dont even like the current major but get out of here with willie and the shell beach drive gang keeping progress from happening. her biggest accomplishment was getting the damn amtrack station rebuilt and getting the casino on the north side of the lake.

didnt do a damn thing other than that.

Anecdotal because I have not spent much time in Lake Charles other than for casinos and fishing, but a lot of the city just looks disjointed and dated (not in a historic way). I was surprised the gambling and plants haven’t funneled more money for commercial
development.

That's the same in every city. You have to get off the interstate and away from the Casino area. LC is not disjointed and is easily the most navigable metro in Louisiana.

so frickign frustrating. normally the upper level ones do well, like calla, 121, villa harlequin, mazens etc

but overall the scene is hard. but the mid range ones...yea they dont do well except Mexican



but LC area sucks at supporting local anything honestly. always looking for best price no matter what and would rather shop online to save a couple dollars



LC has its problems for sure. one of the biggest is the areas around the interstate. but the biggest opportunity to me is the lake street to sallier corridor. now that government housing is gone, that area could be revitalized easily.

now i will say the biggest infrastructure need outside of the bridge and things they are already doing is 4 lanes down country club the whole way. there is a lot of traffic due to areas south being built up so much.
