Caught a bunch of really nice specks off Cat Island two weeks ago.
My dad flew in the 8th Air Force. Completed all of his missions making him a member of The Lucky Bastards Club.
Many years ago I was an RN. I worked in the surgical intensive care unit and picked up occasional overtime shifts in the ER. Based on that experience…and what I witnessed…I wouldn’t ride a motorcycle unless it was off-road.

North La. Duck Guides

A group of us make an annual duck/goose hunt. This year we’re thinking about NE La. Any recommendations for a lodge that could accommodate 8-10 hunters in NE La?
Thanks for any responses.
Landry is MAGA and La. Is a MAGA state. Trump will endorse Landry and Don, Jr. will come to La. to actively campaign for him. La. legislators, elected officials and the Republican constituency will fall in line. Any Republican challenger will be wasting their time.
I wanted to buy pistols for each of my adult daughters. Something easy…just aim and shoot without having to pull the slide on an automatic. On the advice of a firearms instructor I bought 3 Ruger LCR’s in 9mm. It was exactly what I was looking for. I liked them so much, I bought one for myself. Good gun.
We hunt in SE Plaquemines Parish marsh. We saw big gators this year. We didn’t try to measure them, but I’m certain some were significantly longer than 8 ft…and thick!
3 inch #2 or #3.
If I’m in a blind where we’re shooting ducks and geese the. 3.5 inch #2

I alternate btwn 2 guns. A Baretta A391 Extrema. I bought it the first year Baretta came out with the Extrema line. It is the predecessor to the current A400 line. Great gun…has never misfired or failed to eject. The second gun is a Beretta 686 Onyx O/U chambered in 3.5. Great goose gun.

When I was younger…in my early 30’s with less life experience I went duck hunting in the marsh with a couple of buddies. It was 29 when we left the camp and the temp was falling. It was an afternoon hunt. We didn’t see any other hunters leaving the neighboring camps, when we headed out. It was about a 25 min boat ride to our blind in a marsh that you can’t walk in. We had a good hunt, packed up to leave and the boat wouldn’t start. We hit it with starter fluid spray and nothing. Cleaned out the fuel filter and still it won’t start after multiple attempts. If the boat wouldn’t start we were in trouble. The battery was getting weak, we tried again with another spray of starter fluid and the engine started. We got back to the camp right when darkness came down.
Since then, I won’t make a hunt where my survival may depend on a boat motor starting in the cold. I would have loved to made a hunt in a rice field pit blind yesterday when it started snowing. When you’re done, if the four wheeler won’t start, you can walk out. But you can’t walk out of the marsh in below freezing temps.
Yeah, we should only do business with or buy products from people who have the same political and social views as us. There is no room for different opinions and thoughts in our society. That’s what America is all about.
It has been good. Made two good trips. But lots of boats!
Over three decades, I have worked regularly with people from the north on a number of jobs. I haven’t experienced any of the condescension you’re talking about with the exception of one guy. But he was a condescending prick with everybody. In fact, I became friends with several of these people from the north. One will be arriving from NJ on Thursday for 3 days of duck hunting. Another…from NYC…brings about 3-4 people with him every year for Jazz Fest and while they’re down here will make a fishing trip in the marsh. They love the people, the food and the time they spend in La. They will comment on my Cajun accent, but so do people from TX and MS.
