“Magyars forever”

My grandfather immigrated to the USA through Ellis Island when he was 2 years old. Szucs was his last name when he left Hungary. Of course, the spelling was changed when they completed the paperwork.

Szucs (or Szucs) is a common Hungarian surname meaning "furrier" or "fur trader," an occupational name from the Hungarian word szucs.

He grew up to be a machinest and owned a foundry. His business cards all had Magyar Hungarian printed on them. Very proud of his Hungarian heritage.
To quote her comment from the article.
The only crime the you can say we committed is that we entered the country illegally. Knowing that is frustrating because in here you feel powerless and hopeless,” she said.

If she was intelligent enough to graduate nursing school, she had the ability to gain citizenship the correct way.

Sorry, not sorry, she made bad choices. She now pays the price.
From a 2020 article

545 vs 300,000,000 Charley Reese

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one President, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted – by present facts – of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table,
At which he's fed.

Tax his tractor,
Tax his mule,
Teach him taxes
Are the rule.

Tax his work,
Tax his pay,
He works for
peanuts anyway!

Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.

Tax his ties,
Tax his shirt,
Tax his work,
Tax his dirt.

Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he
Tries to think.

Tax his cigars,
Tax his beers,
If he cries
Tax his tears.

Tax his car,
Tax his gas,
Find other ways
To tax his arse.

Tax all he has
Then let him know
That you won't be done
Till he has no dough.

When he screams and hollers;
Then tax him some more,
Tax him till
He's good and sore.

Then tax his coffin,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in
Which he's laid...

Put these words
Upon his tomb,
'Taxes drove me
to my doom...'

When he's gone,
Do not relax,
Its time to apply
The inheritance tax.

Needs new tires, shocks, and 4 yr/40K warranty for $8,500. Warranty alone is not $8500 but still expensive.

2019 Tahoe, extended warranty 5yr/50,000 mile cost me $3400 in Dec 2024
Would you want people to know you are playing in the Texas Bowl?
No rush to show the video. Trump is a master at this.
He will have the Dems screaming from the rooftops, defending and honoring narco-terroist murderers, just acting crazy stupid, simply to show how out of touch with reality they really are……………
Then and only then will he release the video.

If they are intensely focused on this item for longer, that’s less other crap they can be bitching about that he has to focus on.

I think he enjoys this Dem created hysteria and likes to f*#k with them.
Heading to downtown (Front St) Natchitoches Friday & Saturday.
What are the better walking distance restaurants?
Which ones to avoid?
Does not have to be fancy - just decent food.
Thanks if you have any info!

You got the insurance you paid for.
If you had paid for other than liability insurance, you insurance company would be fighting for you
In Louisiana fashion, the Mississippi Governor will announce the firing and the University will wait a few weeks to do the paperwork.
Every minute a decision is delayed, he remains the Ole Miss coach.
How else is that supposed to read other than the moment that a cop stops you at a checkpoint that you are determined guilty?
Multiple people are stopped at checkpoints, sometimes hundreds, with a minimal number of arrests.

Because that's what it is. If you go through a checkpoint, you are guilty of driving under the influence. They can search your vehicle with no warrant, sieze your assets, jail you, forcibly remove your blood, and send you before a judge even if you have committed no crime.
Again, the odds are very low unless you are in fact driving under the influence or have drugs, etc in plain sight of the officer through the glass.
The search is conducted after reasonable suspicion has been established or incidental to arrest.
Items (cash) can be seized but is not forfeited until determined by a judge.
You can be jailed when arrested. Many simple DWI can be released with a summons dependent on you BAC being low.
Yes they can forcibly take your blood after a judge signs a search warrant.
Remember to read the statement when you sign to get your drivers license, cuz you agreed to submit to testing as a condition of getting your license. Driving is a privilege not a right.
You go before the judge to set bail after being accused / arrested for a crime. A judge or jury determines innocence or guilt, not the cop on scene.

If you go through a DUI checkpoint and the police decide that they are going to test you, you are automatically guilty. That is a fact.
That is NOT a fact as most people pass thru checkpoints and continue on their way.

That is reality, not your generalized broad brushed statements with no merit. But you do you. You can continue to say it, but you ain’t right in your facts.
Louisiana sobriety checkpoints are legal because both the U.S. Supreme Court and the Louisiana Supreme Court have determined that the state's interest in preventing drunk driving and saving lives outweighs the minimal intrusion on individual Fourth Amendment rights, provided specific operational guidelines are followed.

For a sobriety checkpoint to be considered lawful in Louisiana, law enforcement must adhere to strict administrative and operational requirements:

Supervisory Planning: The location, time, and duration of the checkpoint must be established in advance by supervisory personnel, not the field officers conducting it.

Public Advance Warning: The public must be notified of the checkpoint ahead of time through public announcements (e.g., local newspapers, social media posts).

Safety Measures: The checkpoint area must have sufficient lighting, clear signage, flares, and cones to warn approaching motorists and ensure safety for both drivers and officers.

Systematic Stopping: Vehicles must be stopped using a neutral and systematic, non-random criterion (e.g., stopping every single car or every third car) to prevent discrimination and arbitrary enforcement.

Minimal Intrusion: The initial detention of motorists should be brief, involving a cursory visual inspection and request for license and registration.

Probable Cause Requirement: An officer can only conduct a more thorough investigation, such as field sobriety tests or chemical tests, if they develop reasonable suspicion or probable cause of impairment during the initial stop (e.g., observing slurred speech, the smell of alcohol, or an open container in plain view).

Drivers do have the right to refuse a field sobriety test or to answer incriminating questions beyond providing identification, but under Louisiana's implied consent law, refusal to submit to a chemical test (like a breath or blood test) after an arrest can result in automatic driver's license suspension.

If these established procedures are not followed correctly by law enforcement, any resulting DUI/DWI charges can be challenged and potentially dismissed in court.

Keeps me deep in thought of why people who think about why a company would make a stand this tall, would actually buy a stand that tall. :dunno:
Just returned from a Viking cruise on the Seine River.
While docked in Paris, witnesses a fisherman from the boat next to us pull in a Wels catfish at least 6 ft long.
It was huge. Fought it for quite a while. Brought it to the surface, stuck his arm down the throat to remove the hook and released it.
