It’s close enough to the north Ga mountains and has a good park system of its own.
It is within about an hour/hour and a half of them unless they moved since I was last there. They even have a couple of freeways going right to the foot of them.

I've been in Atlanta a lot over the years and have friends with great houses there. Have a generally favorable opinion but it is a bit of a bland big city.
It's like Paris compared to Charlotte NC though.

Nashville has music and "mountains" "close-ish".
You could say the same of Atlanta.
And beaches closer. Gulf and Tybee and such.

i lived in atlanta for a few years and loved it. better restaurants than houston and just as much to do (which admittedly isn't that much)/ also, best airport in the country toook a train and never missed a flight. in fact, wished i lived there now.

Of course Dallas, Houston, Nashville, Atlanta are all bigger and have more people but they are all very spread out and pretty much driving cities. Charlotte has a metro train system that people actually use so the single women are more concentrated in apartments and condos in specific parts of the city. Not scattered all over the place
I will perform an exhaustive study on all the cities mentioned above and report my findings.

Atlanta is huge.
I assume it is like other huge cities.
If there is something that you like, you can find it in atlanta.
Live music?
Nature?
Art?
Sports?
History?
Clubs?
Fortune 100 employers?
Suburbs for families?
I am not saying Atlanta is better.
Just that if there is a hobby that you enjoy, you will find it in North Georgia.

the Coca-Cola factory museum and a shopping area called Underground Atlanta.
Those are the 2 main things I remember about visiting Atlanta, also in the 1990's. I've read that the Underground may not be as happening as it used to be.

The Braves have a strong cultural following all over the south. Their reach is huge. I grew up in Tennessee, and all the baseball fans from here are Braves fans. I'd imagine you get something similar down into Alabama.
Absolutely. The Braves have a big following in Alabama. They were the first major league team in the south and their coming to Atlanta was a big deal. College football is bigger than pro football, and the Falcons suck.
