We are living in the scifi future

Seems unavoidable at this point you’re going to have robot/drone armies powered by AI. Don’t see how it could possibly not happen. Weird world man.

This is pretty hard to take seriously. A congressman who founded something called "The House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party" claims that robots will destroy the world.

First of all, I've never heard of a worse named congressional committee in my life. Congress is terrible at naming things. But "The House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party" is a pretty cringeworthy name even by Congressional standards. John Moolenaar has even worse naming skills than whatever ancestor of his chose the last name "Moolenaar".

Second of all, people have been claiming that robots will destroy the world for like 100 years now, and it's never happened.

Reactions to robots are like those of a drone and I am inclined to think it proper to haul out that 870 with buckshot, but our government considers it a crime to shoot one. So the Castle doctrine might not help in your defense.

Property Rights: Under current U.S. law, robots are considered property, not legal persons. Therefore, damaging or destroying a robot is treated similarly to destroying other personal property, with charges often determined by the value of the device (e.g., felony if over the state’s property threshold, typically $500–$2,500).

Aircraft Classification: If the robot is a drone or unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), it is legally classified as an aircraft by the FAA. Shooting down a drone is a federal crime under 18 U.S.C. § 32, punishable by up to 20 years in prison, regardless of property value or privacy concerns.

Self-Defense Limits: The Castle Doctrine and Stand Your Ground laws do not authorize the use of deadly force against robots, as these protections apply only to imminent threats from human beings.

There is some frickery coming, especially from an economic standpoint.

I just don’t see how things continue trucking along at the current pace with all of the sociopolitical changes we are seeing globally, on top of the technological changes predicted to occur in the workplace.

It is a little weird how chaotic all facets of society appear to be.

Speaking of drones, there’s this drone delivery service in north Houston that has these big drones landing near the roadway. I was at a red light and assumed I was witnessing a plane performing an emergency landing when it was coming to its base station.

It's gonna be like Caesar in the collusieum watching the "robots" or slaves fight. I'm told we will have these bots going all over the place fighting so none of us ever has to. I'd rather bots doing the dirty work but it goes far deeper than some simple thing of bots fighting.
