And every generation has said, “this time is different”, but I will give you two reason as to why I do believe there are some differences.

1. The sociopolitical aspect globally hasn’t been seen in a long time. The illegal alien influx in Europe is primed to cause significant upheaval.

2. The tech changes are slightly different this time. The advent of AI isn’t the creation of a tool to replace another tool. AI is being created to replace the worker, and every job is affected.

We have had tech that replaced previous tech for all of human history, resulting in the erasure of entire job markets.

This resulted in the creation of new jobs to manage the tech.

But, what happens when a mass number of jobs are replaced and the new tech manages itself?

Office work, engineering, coding, medical care, filmmaking, music, art, etc.

It is a bit different when the tech will replace the worker, rather than simply replacing old tech.

I am sure someone said the same thing you did before the fall of Egypt, Rome, etc.
