Interesting case.
I had an issue at a previous employer who was trans and wanted to be referred to as Honey. I told them I’m not calling a grown man honey, ended up in HR office, was able to strike a compromise of calling the individual by their last name.

I don't think I've ever worked with a tranny. If I did, I didn't know it. My current employer has 2500+ employees so perhaps there are a few that I don't know about. I mainly deal with the same 30-40 people on a daily basis.

I am pretty liberal when it comes to social issues, but when it comes to this shite, it blows my mind.
How the frick as people supposed to know what people identify as? How do you implement policies on this?
If you look like, dress like a dude, people are going to assume you are a dude. If you look like and dress like a girl people are going to assume you are a girl. They can't expect people to address them they way they want to be addressed.
In your private life your friends, family can refer to you as whatever, but in public.. work life, etc be understandable that its just easier on everyone that you are either a male or female. This shite is stupid.

It really could get even more out of control if Supreme Court allows the term "Sex" in federal laws/acts to be redefined to include gender identity and sexual orientation instead of the term's long standing legal meaning including back when laws were passed and back when women were given right to vote. The 19th amendment gave women right to vote by stating: "The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex."
Seems like both sides agree the term would not have included gender identity or sexual orientation back when law in question was passed, but obviously one side believes it should be changed by courts today to include those meanings. Court should not usurp Congress or the constitutional way to amend constitution just because they think it's time to do so.
