Why do so many people here think he has a right to an attorney while being pulled over for a traffic stop? You don't get that right until you're under arrest. It's the second thing that's mentioned in the Miranda warning.

Yeah I’m no lawyer but aren’t you allowed to ask for your lawyer only after you’ve been read your Miranda rights? He wasn’t read his rights when he was asked to do the FST

You can request a lawyer at any time during an interaction with law enforcement.
In fact, if you're dealing with the FBI, your first and only response to any question (other than name and address) should be "lawyer."

I suspect ol Tony ends up with straight traffic tickets, and the oui disappears but we will see. His high visibility may cause folks to dig in heels to preserve both the image of being 100% right and that they don’t cater to celebs either

By "sketchy", I was referring to the cop's conduct. Everything from asking a coherent, polite person to exit his car on a busy freeway, deny him the ability to talk with his lawyer, handcuffing him, forcing him to abandon his vehicle, etc. If the cop was a fat, good old boy, and Romo was black, it would fit a perfect stereotype.

Man that video of the sobriety test is rough. All the male cops are standing around like "Bitch, you know who this guy is??"
At one point it looks like Romo looks at the male cops to be like, "Come on guys help me out," but officer GI Jane has already taken it too far

I was going to move out of the left lane and into the right, but as soon as the right lane cleared, Tony Romo jumped into the right lane to pass me and I couldn't move over..
Because he was Trying to pass Unsafely on the right.
So, what is a person supposed to do when an inconsiderate prick remains in the left lane and refuses to get over? It happens all of the time.

Seems like that request should be granted.
This would benefit the wealthy, since your average Joe doesn't have a lawyer who will answer his calls after hours. I see it on arrest videos fairly regularly. "I'm calling (name of best criminal defense lawyer in Shreveport) right now." Cop knows damn good and well that this meth head trash isn't calling that lawyer, or if he is, the lawyer isn't going to call back. It is almost always nothing more than name dropping if the person isn't a person of means.

And for those that keep mentioning Miranda… Miranda warning is only required when two things are met. One, you’re in custody. Two, you are being asked self-incriminating questions. Both standards have to be met. Not one or the other.
Eta: I did not watch the second video back at the station. I don’t agree with her tactics and how the stop was performed but I also don’t know their department policy.
