If this gets cemented and we are able finalize a deal with Iran…. Kudos to trump

Notably, at the end of the trust's one-hundred-year term, Wisner expressly granted all of the trust's immovable property to the City of New Orleans.

This is my understanding too.

What’s puzzling is what Latoya did 6 years after the trust ended in 2014.
She had the trust extended to pay revenue to all of the prior benefactors when the revenue should have been going only to nola.

Seems dumb
Goes into effect Jan 2027

Nolan still has to get brake tags as a municipal requirement

The new codes are supposed to contain limited info. Car color, and vin but it’s possible that insurance will also be reflected.

Imo, this is a data grab. Expect that more info will be contained in that scan code. Big brother…
The trust began in 2014 went for 100 years. The city of New Orleans was beneficiary of the land and the heirs were to receive revenue from what came from that land. Some were family, some were not.

In 2014 it was set to expire. Somehow the beneficiaries continued to receive income from the trust. Mitch was mayor then.

Then in 2020, Latoya brought legal action to extend the trust and that was later invalidated by the 4th circuit.

Moreno and the city argue that the trust has expired and the land now goes to ownership of the city and also the revenue from proceeds from that land. Port Fourchon’s lease is a big part of that-

I’m sure that there’ll be legal action to bring this to the la Supreme Court to see if the recent decision is upheld. The heirs are trying to make the case that they’re supposed to continue receiving funds.
The city of New Orleans is trying to make the case that they’re owed the money received by heirs since 2014!

Lawyers will drag that out for a while until someone squeals and wants to settle

No it’s not.

The White House has always hosted lavish affairs. The previous space was enough to host up to 250 for a formal dinner and if needed, they could add lavish tents, floors and stages. IF needed…

The maintenance and cost to run this gaudy ballroom will far surpass what any of that costs…

Trump has upped the bar on spending. I cringe to think what the democrats will do if they get their chance.

Phhhhhh

Do you even know what a vulva is?
It shouldn’t be hard to obtain data to show a connection between ssri uptake inhibitors and their usage by mass murderers.

I think democrats are disenchanted with their choices on the executive level. Biden was a contrived arrangement. Same for Kamala. It’s hard to vote for someone who was not duly elected to run. Neither of those 2 were legit candidates. So their party is deranged.

Then on a local level, just look at the results of democrat run states and cities. It’s not good and people feel that. Anti police makes many democrats feel unsafe. Transgender sports is just bizarre and many democrats object to that. Open borders take jobs away from American blue collar workers which impacts democrats.

Trump plugged into that and it works.

That's a fair position to have. As long as you weren't "quietly upset" about those examples while being "totally outraged" and losing your shite when Trump is doing it.

I think selling out our government on any level is a very slippery slope and should be outlawed at every level.

I voted for Trump and thought he would bring about some fiscal sanity but I’m disappointed.

This ballroom is democrat BS

Of course but a billion dollar ballroom with no real purpose other than entertainment being built at a time when we running historically high deficits, high interest rates, and a historically high national debt, makes no sense in any way. It’s frivolous

It’s like buying a McLaren when you’re living paycheck to paycheck with maxed out credit cards.

This is democrat level stupidity
Wade’s an a-hole

He’s out a-hole but he’s generally thought of as a prick

That sort of persona sets a high bar

He better win

When our debt levels are what they are, it’s imperative to be strategic on spending. It becomes about necessities. The ballroom is not a necessity

And besides, how do we, in Louisiana benefit?

At a time when our national debt to gdp ratio screams to cut costs on government spending, a gigantic gaudy ballroom, amounts to fiddling while DC burns….

I realize that presidents have done renovations etc before so the precedent is well established but this ballroom is over the top. I was bothered when Obama converted the tennis courts to basketball courts.

At these debt levels, someone needs to step up and show leadership.

And even if every dime is paid for by private “donors”, it’s a slap in the face to conservatives minded folks who object to our government selling out. This just invites manipulation.

I hated when Clinton and Obama sold out the White House. I hated when Biden sold access to Ukraine or anyone who would pay for his son’s shakedown demands. I hate this too.

I didn’t vote for this.
Trump has been a disappointment on the fiscal level

But hey, he’s getting a new ballroom. Fiddle while Rome burns

30 year averaging at 6.75% is putting cold water on what was a modest market

Yet billions of cameras being carried around every day and not a single credible picture or video….
Trump definitely miscalculated this one

Thought it’d be over quickly- wrong
Thought the people would rise up- wrong
Thought the strait of Hormuz would remain open- wrong

Now we sit with inflation, huge war expenses, rising interest rates and no end in sight

Not to mention the political shift staring us in the face

I didn’t vote for this
Did anyone believe he was going to carry out the threat?
Lol
