we are dumping carbon into the air and cutting down trees. no matter the impact it is more than if we were not doing that. so it is in our best interest to know whether we can actually do anything about it, and to predict the impact of the overall change as accurately and as soon as we can.
we have been in an ages long climatologically stable period. if that were to end we would really see some severe impact. and if, in some ways our activities are helping making it unstable (affecting the ocean currents for example) thats really the only thing we CAN do anything about

these assholes also said we were supposed to have a bad arse winter last year and it ended up being the worst one the western slope of Colorado has seen, snowpack and temperature wise, since they opened Vail for skiing. And the check is still coming due with all the fires and drought CO is experiencing.

I agree with this, but the models haven’t been even remotely close to accurate yet. They have actually been so far off that they lose substantial credibility and anyone who takes them seriously now and calls for massive economic hardships to appease them is doing so foolishly.
