My father wore his Navy dad shirt on base as Ft Wood, and said "At least he doesn't sleep in the mud."
Due to the heat, it was :more of a “hole in the sand” they slept in for 3 nights. Kid has been spoiled with creature comforts their whole life so this was a well needed dose of humility from Bravo company.

Didn’t serve, but I am in Columbia now and my kid got their Soldier patch yesterday after doing the Forge in the hottest temps every recorded at Fort Jackson, We are soon leaving to attend our youngest kids graduation today before AIT school at Fort Sam.

Seems very doable if you are the type to move daily like that and you will maximize your time to view the state. Sleep when you get home is one of our mottos on these type trips!
re: Yosemite ideas...best way to get there cause it seems like its a ways to a major airport

I still cant believe they didn't build all our National Parks next to the interstate. :banghead:
There no "easy" way to get to these top tier National Parks. However, you must know that getting there is half the fun and in the case of Yosemite. it couldn't be more true. The drive is great once you get to some elevation. We also stayed in West Yosemite and it was once of the best trips ever.

I get the impression that they’re playing
Which is honestly kind of cool

This is from the parking lot at Old Faithful, so I guess it's about the daily attitude of the bison in question.

Pretty sure he’s going to Texas Tech.
Great Thread. I'm headed to Hood River on Friday and then Crater Lake on Sunday. Already decided to extend the trip now need to find 2 or 3 days of stuff to do as I head from Klamath Falls back to PDX.
I think I see enough activities just in this thread to fill a few days I had open Thanks to all

I just read that the kid left his phone and wallet on the boat that went in. Is that right?

Glad to know that you are alright. I am curious as to the final bill for the Life Flight once you get it-- if you would share?
re: What are some signs of a small esophagus?

Most people take their esophagus for granted until it starts giving you issues. It's at that point that you quickly realize how important eating is to your future.

quote:I do not believe anyone mention that we start to see the Queen go mad. There were, IMO, quite a few moments where they showed her confused and mentally disengaged. Am I the only one that noticed this, that the queen is losing it under stress.
I thought episode 3 was kind of a wasted episode.

The longer you can spend at the canyon during a single day the better, the amount of change the light and shadows create in the view of the canyon is an amazing feature. As noted above, take the South rim all the way to Desert View over a few hours and you see for yourself.
Also don't sleep on a picnic on the water in Oak Creek canyon and don't miss "church" in Sedona on your way to Phoenix. :usa:

We stayed at many AirBnb over the years, sometimes part of a shared property. Have stayed at a few guest house of big homes in the mountains or in Seattle we stayed in the "basement "of a three story mansion overlooking Portage Bay. Never saw any of the owners but did text them.
We have never stayed in a AirBnb with other people in the same unit, but there are plenty of people renting out their very nice second homes for week.
Just have to research as they vary and you can get some fabulous units in great location. For example, I soon head off to a cabin near Crater Lake!
