How did you get the stubborn elderly to evac?
I didn’t. They wouldn’t listen. It sucked leavinf them But they’re all safe. I couldn’t handle putting my two kids under 5 through the risk and based on during and after storm assessments of my neighborhood I absolutely made the right choice.

In LC our entire grid was completely destroyed. I am not on any special grid shared with a hospital or anything essential. There was not a single pole left standing anywhere around me. Transmission lines were completely wiped out. I had power in two weeks. I know other people had to wait longer, but they don't have a magic wand. There are people coming from all over the country to help you. It sucks, I know, I was there. Those guys are going to bust their arse to get your power back.
Yeah they told us it could be a month and a half and they got it back on a day short of 3 weeks. And to be honest, it was incredible. There was nothing left. They replaced every pole in town. Still took almost 2 months for cable/internet, but they had to completely rewire the entire grid.

Anyone know the status of The Shire? Coworker lives out there and it’s radio silence from her hubby and neighbors.

We did it! The city didn't flood. Of course, that's because of how much rain we got and the Army Corps of Engineers fixing the levees properly but hey, WE DID IT.
She's a worthless clown.

I’m doing hurricane assessment for cable companies. We can’t restore anything until Entergy is done fixing the poles

It’s crazy what people will say in the name of politics
New Orleans experiences no loss of life & people are upset that the mayor is happy about that. Mother Nature dictated the good & bad of this one.
Latoya will be judge on how she coordinates recovery efforts

Yea I've always just assumed that whatever cable provider you have will not come up until some time after you power comes back up.
