re: Dubai/Maldives in May

I flew the QSuites in 2022 IAH-DOH and then swapped onto the A320 DOH-MLE, loved the trip.

Headed to Dubai later this month and staying at the St. Regis Dubai Downtown. Will report back on any restaurants we find.

To this day, Qatar QSuites is in my top 5 flying experiences all time.

Upgrade to Go Big, it essentially cuts through all of the extra fee BS and gets you a First Class style seat.

I'm curious to hear how OP's trip went. We're headed to Dubai as part of our Asia trip next month.

Did you not see that I own a boat.

It’s fully closed in. Is part of the house. Think third garage but the door and space is much larger.

I wish I had one. Could put the boat in it and have extra room for storage.

I’m landing in 30, but on United.

No you aren't.

Wouldn’t be surprised to get video of the crash soon. Plane spotters love to go out in especially windy and gusty conditions.

It's on the runway on a clear day, airport will have multiple angles of it.

Entertainment screens are the past not the future. Everyone brings a phone and/or a tablet. Put a usb plug and offer free wireless via starlink and let people do what they want.

Airlines are moving towards free wi-fi (Delta/United/etc.) and installing IFE screens. You can't use a laptop or tablet in multiple phases of flight and it takes up most of your tray space. I booked a flight specifically because it has IFE screens a couple of weeks from now.

Just saw an article a couple of days ago where AA is taking out all Economy seats that have entertainment screens in their 737s.

AA hasn't had IFE screens on its narrowbody fleet in years.
American Airlines leadership sent a memo to employees outlining the creation of a new "Customer Experience" team that will focus on everything from booking ti in-flight service.

It appears that Delta and United were kicking their butts and they finally waived the white flag.

Thanks! I'll be on leave so Jr. and I will have plenty of time to kill during the day!
I'm headed to Japan this summer. Flying DFW-HND direct on Japan Airlines in Business Class. If you have credit card points you can use them to book business class with enough advance notice.

Thanks for all of the recommendations everyone! We'll be in Mountain View for work during the week (Mrs. H2O at least) and then headed up to the city over the weekend.

Who?
Couldn't agree more. I hate that place.

I don't think I've ever had a smooth connection there.

Heading out to the bay area next week for a work trip. Planning to spend a couple of days in SF with Mrs. H2O and H2O Jr. Looking for hotels in the city, preferably Marriott but can do Fine Hotels and Resorts or The Hotel Collection via Amex.

Focus is on the touristy spots and being able to walk to most of them. Thanks in advance.
