15% rejected just like that, without any checks or oversight. Damn the EBR higher ups are brazen.

Who really cares about the school district right now. Once St George passes, which is only voted on by people who live in the proposed St George, they’ll focus on the school district and have an easier time making it happen.

I’m not going to lie. Now that this is a real possibility and I just finished building the house I hope to retire in in the proposed St. George area, I’m nervous about it. I really need to read up on the plans and structure that the St. George organizers have in much greater detail.

I always wanted people to be able to vote on it so it was a no brained decision to sign the petition. Now, it’s decision time and people really need to investigate what they are voting for.

This is usually accomplished by an opinion request to the AG's Office.

I couldn’t care less. I just want to stick it in Baton Rouge’s arse and watch the usual suspects cry.

Too all the folks who said the SG contingent were wasting our time and to just give it up after the last petition was rejected

Will EBR file a lawsuit to stop the vote? I think they will and it won’t be a good look for them.

The ultimate goal IMO is to keep EBR parish (as a whole) viable for long enough for it to reinvent itself.

Not going to happen when over half the city, and its inhabitants north of Florida Blvd refuse to break the cycle of receiving free government handouts, refuse to work, and support the Political aspirations of SWB and her puppet Murphy Paul.

It's been a long hard fight. I'm sure when the history books are written about the USA, this will be the second most important battle they talk about, right under the American Revolution. Congrats, baws.

If this can only be voted on by the residents of St. George, Why did SWB say this:

quote:

If and when an election is scheduled, it is my hope that the election date is one in which high voter turnout is anticipated. I encourage not only those who reside inside the proposed city’s boundaries, but all residents of the parish, to closely evaluate the proposal prepared by St. George organizers as well as the independent analyses that outline the proposed city’s impact on the City-Parish and the services it claims it will provide.

Is this an effort to have people vote on the measure who are not able to?

You don't pay for it now. Uninformed voter base still can't grasp this.

You are wrong again.
We all pay

You pay if you ride, you pay if you advertise, you pay if you stay in a local hotel, you pay if you pay parish taxes, you pay if you own property inside the designated tax district even if you live outside of it, and of course you pay if you pay federal taxes.

Property taxes from the special district consist of 65% of CATS revenues, but not all of it.

Because she's a fricking idiot and extremely representative of her supporters. Only people that live inside the geographical boundaries that would define St. George, as they were listed in the petition, would have the issue on their ballots.

If only you fellas could realize that this sort of low-brow name-calling could actually drive away people who signed the petition, you might not be so quick to beat your own chests.

Watch out for the infiltrators coming in to cast illegal votes. They will come in the form of bus loads of old people on EBRCOA chartered buses. Be vigilant St Georgers.

Yes, exactly like that. Both are the words of imbeciles.
