JV is one of the more likeable pro athletes out there. Always enjoy his interviews. Could have a career in coaching or managing if he wants it.

The time machine in Napoleon Dynamite worked
Posted by RidiculousHype on 7/2/26 at 3:19 pm
Before the time machine, Napoleon complains of having no skills. After the time machine, he's a great dancer, artist, bass fisherman, and milk-taster.
Before the time machine, Grandma has a broken coccyx which would have severely limited her mobility, given her age. After the time machine, she's standing there outside with Tina looking no worse for wear.
Before the time machine, Rico sells the tupperware knockoff, and seems to be doing well (flaunting the $120 proceeds). After the time machine, suddenly he's creepily selling Bust Must herbal enhancers to underage girls. A sudden, unexplained change of character and sales strategy.
Before the time machine, Napoleon is in the Happy Hands club, but Summer is not. After the time machine, Napoleon is not in the club, but Summer is; they wear dance outfits, and the song is different.
Two songs play at the dance, while Rico is back home presumably attempting to use the time machine: "Time After Time", and "Forever Young".
I think Rico successfully went back to '82, altered a few events, creating a ripple effect through time which ultimately led him to find his soul mate, which is what he was after all along.

I heard it was them giving the CEO's son in law the job. Also heard 4 people quit.

Golfing out West in the fall, taking in a mid tier game between rounds, could be worse :dunno:

Not a soccer fan, but the World Cup is great TV. Any true competitor knows this.

Same here. This gif is literally the only bit of Sam Houston or Dutchtown baseball I've seen all year.
Connecting dots, I'm guessing Sam Houston used to get bullied by Barbe with these types of tactics, so they started fighting fire with fire and now they play the same way. Of course I'm only seeing one play and making a lot of assumptions..
I don't know who louisiana scoreboard guy is but I'll take your word for it. If he's a Dutchtown guy he might be feeling like this was their last shot with Prairieville taking a lot of the baseball neighborhoods from their attendance zone.

He goes to the inside of the bag on purpose to crowd the 1st baseman which is likely taught by his coach (kinda douchey) but it’s nothing that bad
It looks on purpose to me as well, and agree it's something he's probably been coached to do. The runner definitely initiates contact and could have been warned or called out for it. I wouldn't have ejected him for his part unless he'd been warned previously. The 1B is an auto-eject for his part, although I sympathize with his frustration.
This is the kind of stuff Barbe and Zachary used to be known for in the past. Zachary actually had two separate brawls against St. Amant and Teurlings years ago on plays similar to this. It's basically antagonize your opponent until he overreacts, and it usually works like it did here. This is where good proactive umpiring will know what to look for and nip it in the bud.
re: Has This Season Shaken Your Confidence in Jay?

Li'l bit?
I'm in this camp, but only because my confidence in Jay after last year was insanely high. He'd just won his 2nd title in 3 years, this time without the star power of the 2023 team (Anderson & Eyanson hadn't blazed thru the minors yet) and appeared to have mastered college baseball the way Nick Saban had mastered college football.
Looking at it now, the margins are thinner than they appeared when the team walked off the field after Game 2 against Coastal Carolina. At that time, it seemed even in a bad/unlucky season, the worst Jay could do was .500 in the SEC and a regional appearance because he's just that good.
Now we know the bottom is quite a bit lower than that, but I expect if Jay stays at LSU long-term he will have more seasons closer to the top of the range than the bottom. But instead of a natty every other year, maybe it's every 5 years. Still puts him in the elite category, and every other school would pay a lot of money for those results.
