re: Louisiana state budget - LSULaw2009 on 5/21/20 at 9:45 pm
[link=(https://legis.la.gov/legis/ViewDocument.aspx?d=1175045)]https://legis.la.gov/legis/ViewDocument.aspx?d=1175045[/link] This is the current version that will be taken up on the House floor Tuesday. I'm sure there will be lots of floor amendments offered (always are)....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (3)
re: Georgia man who recorded Arbery shooting arrested on charges including felony murder - LSULaw2009 on 5/21/20 at 5:54 pm

Was he armed?
Don't know. That would change things, obviously.
Doesn't have to be armed. If he committed a felony and someone dies, it's felony murder. GA Code § 16-5-1 (2018)
(c) A person also commits the offense of murder when, in the commi...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: The video is clear: Ahmaud Arbery was killed in cold blood. - LSULaw2009 on 5/6/20 at 11:15 pm
Except a DA said they acted in self-defense. So there goes that argument.
Yeah, unless Georgia law is vastly different than most states, you can't assault someone with a gun then claim self defense when they try to protect themselves....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Goodbye to governor's stay at home order - LSULaw2009 on 5/4/20 at 4:08 pm
There is a lot of smoke the he plans on extending to June
God I hope not. I've heard that state agencies start returning May 18th with 100% back by June 1st. But then again supposedly a letter went out about reopening May 1st and that blew up at the last minute. Fingers crosse...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Goodbye to governor's stay at home order - LSULaw2009 on 5/4/20 at 3:55 pm
I'm a registered Republican and ready to reopen. But this resolution as currently worded doesn't appear to let the governor still address natural disasters for 15 days. We've already had two major weather related issues in North Louisiana this year, and Hurricane season starts june1....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Goodbye to governor's stay at home order - LSULaw2009 on 5/4/20 at 3:37 pm
If that passes, better say some prayers no floods, tornados or other natural disasters hit for 15 days. Seems like they'd want exception for those, while addressing COVID-19 issues....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (2)
re: Turtle shitting on using money to bail out state pensions - LSULaw2009 on 4/22/20 at 1:30 pm
That's not how Louisiana's state systems work either. Louisiana's higher pension costs are mostly due to improper funding on the state side for decades. This underfunding also put pressure on the retirement systems to seek higher than logical rates of return to keep state employer contribution r...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Louisiana, it's time for a new constitution l Small towns are dead - LSULaw2009 on 4/12/20 at 12:42 am
People have a right to form small towns and villages and make rules within the limits, and it Trump's your right to occasionally pass through them without slowing down.
Except for the fact the rest of the taxpayers of the Parish and State have to absorb the debt and expend money an...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Our President: Student loan payments now waived for next 6 months, "may go further" - LSULaw2009 on 4/10/20 at 8:53 pm
How is this loan forgiveness
Well in my case, I get no payments or interest for six months on my federal consolidation loans that still count towards my 120 payments for Public Service Loan Forgiveness. So I effectively gets six months of payments forgiven. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)

re: Favorite movie lines that you regularly use... - LSULaw2009 on 3/17/20 at 10:23 pm
Write that down! I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum. Great I'm surrounded by a-holes! Keep firing a-holes! When will then be now? What's a matter Colonel Sanders? Chicken? What I told you was true, from a certain point of view. Badges?...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
Changing the spark plugs on some of their V8s requires a massive amount of patience and probably a lot of spare plugs. The design is horrible.
Cylinder 4 & 8 are a pain in the butt changing spark plugs and ignition coils on the 4.6L. re: Would you rather be paid twice a month or bi-weekly? - LSULaw2009 on 1/24/20 at 4:25 pm
Bi-weekly all the way. 26 checks most years and 27 checks every 9-10 years. I'll get 27 checks in 2021, so three 3 check months, and unlike federal government employees, we get that extra check beyond normal salary....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
