Yes, when you are working you work a lot, but you also get about 8 weeks off a year between holidays and PTO
This is true. 25 PTO days. 17 firm holidays.

Most people in public accounting grind it out as long as they can, and then transition into industry at an elevated position. Very few make it through to the Partner/director level, and the ones who do sacrificed there 20's and 30's to get there. Hence my gif on the 1st page.

I saw an ad in the newspaper long ago stating that a large percentage of women wear bras that don't fit correctly, and that one of the mall stores (Macy's or Dillards?) was having an expert bra fitter event at the store to assist women in determining their proper size and fit. If only my high school guidance counselor had mentioned that I would have known my calling in life. Who cares what it pays?

My wife (no pics) worked as an assistant manager at Victoria's Secret for a spell before we had children. She carried a tape measure with her and helped fit OT 10s with the perfect bra, every day. She was required to wear make-up and look her best for every shift. She was put in charge of recruiting new employees and was told to hire women who look like they wear the product. I once was able to venture with her into the warehouse, where I found myself surrounded by beautiful women having fun with skimpy underwear. It was like something out of a David Lee Roth video for a guy like me who'd not had much luck with the ladies in high school. Good times.

Work two 13 week contracts a year (4 12hr shifts a week) and clip significantly over 100k including per diem, and take the other half the year off.
There are similar contracts in my field, I just don't want to be gone Sunday-Thursday for 6 months out of the year.

I always see people complaining about this. If it is that great then why aren't you doing it?

Are you under the assumption you can just walk off the street and get a FedGov civil service job?

Yeah, but to get to that level in Big 4 accounting...(from someone who has worked in B4 public accounting)

I know someone that has been at PwC for 12-13 years and he does quite well for himself

Teachers - work 8 months
Not true. Teachers work during the summer doing lesson plans, continuing education classes, and workshops, and several hours after school and on the weekends. Teacher salaries can be paid just during the school year or elected to be spread out for 12 months.

Deloitte, EY, P&G, and PWC pay their employees VERY well. They expect a lot from them, but they are paid handsomely.

Now break down those first couple of years to hours worked / salary.

It's not pretty. Yeah pulling in 60k to 70k or so out of college is nice, but when it's averaging 60 plus hour weeks it's not as great.

I heard your "balls" cast was easier to make than most because your penis was about the size of David's.

My wife is a teacher and for her, all that is done in one week spread out during the summer. The other 9 weeks are pure off time. Not to mention the additional 5 weeks of no school per year and the two weeks of PTO.

Organized and prepared teachers never complain about their "extra" work, because it isn't a problem compared to the perks they get.

Can confirm, but the work is steady. After growing up watching people lose their jobs in the recession, and then watching their peers deal with the job loss from Covid, the young associates in B4 accounting don't really complain about it. They are just happy to be working.

That’s fair. Wife and I are in a contract for her currently. It’s a simple lifestyle when we are both able to go because I work remotely anyway. We would not be doing this if I couldn’t go with her.

Insurance Agents

People always joke on here that athletes will eventually sell insurance. People generally talk shite about insurance on this board due to lack of understanding. However, it's very easy for an agent to make 500K plus a year in personal income, including six figure bonuses and paid travel trips.
