re: What to do about Lonzo Ball? - Epic Cajun
why wouldn't Hart get that nod
I think that’s the plan if Lonzo doesn’t work out, but I think they do want to see if Lonzo can play in the transition facilitator/half court shooter role first. That role is an ideal pairing with Zion....

re: Any possible way we can make a move for Steven Adams? - Epic Cajun
You are manipulating the facts to match what you want it to be. OKC was added to an already agreed-upon trade
It’s clear the Pels were targeting Adams from the beginning, so you have no idea whether or not the Adams part was part of the initial trade or not. I’m mot manipulating...
In my mind, a SG is an explosive scorer with the ability to score in bunches.
What is a Power Forward in your mind? What about a Small Forward? Because we have players at those two positions who are explosive scorers. Not all teams are built the same, our team is built around two ...

re: Any possible way we can make a move for Steven Adams? - Epic Cajun
It’s probably going to be 2-3 years before we can expect to get out of the first round anyway. Which aligns directly with Adams’ and Bledsoe’s contracts. We have to become a good regular season team before we have to worry about becoming a good playoff team....

re: Any possible way we can make a move for Steven Adams? - Epic Cajun
What other trade in the history of the NBA is broken into pieces to determine whether or not one part of the deal is an overpay? If you think Pels out: Jrue 2 seconds Miller Williams Gray Cheatham Pels in: Adams Bledsoe 25/27 unprotected first round picks 24/26 pick swaps Is ...

We paid 2 second rounders and end of bench fodder for Adams. The Bucks paid a first and Hill. We never had the first and Hill, regardless of what the initial reports were....
Sent out Hill and 3 good picks too
Sorry, forgot to include the 2 seconds we sent out . We never had Hill or the other first, those were assets that Milwaukee sent to the Thunder for us to get Adams. Look at it from the perspective of the completed trade, because it was nev...

re: Any possible way we can make a move for Steven Adams? - Epic Cajun
That’s the entirety of the trade from the Pels perspective. We sent out Jrue and bench fodder and we got back: Steven Adams (on a reasonable extension) Eric Bledsoe 25/27 unprotected firsts 24/26 pick swaps Tell me that’s a bad deal. Who cares what Milwaukee paid to have the Thunder s...

re: Any possible way we can make a move for Steven Adams? - Epic Cajun
Those Lakers and Bucks picks have a ton more value than a lottery protected first that is earlier than all but one of the Lakers/Bucks picks. I’ve said it in another thread, but it bears repeating the only reason that we’re even having this discussion right now is because of the way that the trad...
Yes, it was an overpay. Stop arguing that.
Nah, shite take. Why do you guys value late firsts so much? And before you say “durr Bucks and Lakers picks”, the only reason they are valuable is because they have potential to become higher picks (and that possibility makes them more val...

re: Any possible way we can make a move for Steven Adams? - Epic Cajun
Adams was an expiring contract, the Thunder had no reason/motivation to trade him unless they were going to receive assets for him. They weren’t going to just give him away. If they saw no value in him, they would’ve just let him expire after this season, and at that point we would’ve been stuck c...

re: Any possible way we can make a move for Steven Adams? - Epic Cajun
You’re arguing hypotheticals, there’s no way to know what else we could’ve received in a trade for those assets. So, unless you have that knowledge, your point doesn’t have any legs to stand on....

re: Any possible way we can make a move for Steven Adams? - Epic Cajun
It's all the picks we gave up that I think is egregious (combined with Hill)
A lottery protected first from a good young team, and a couple seconds? The reason the Bucks and Lakers picks are valuable is because they are unprotected. There’s no potential that the Denver pick tur...

re: Jrue Holiday bidding war - Epic Cajun
Maybe get a future first or two.
I don’t think they are trading 3 first plus more in the future (no speculation that is was more than the picks this year plus Hayward). Again with a deal like this you are only getting the asset of the current pick, your future flexibility is take...

re: Jrue Holiday bidding war - Epic Cajun
IMO, the Celtics deal has the least long term potential, because in that deal I’m assuming we’re trading the late Boston picks for Adams, and therefore the only long term potential we have is whoever we pick at 14. Short term we’re also stuck without a starting PG, or we’re stuck starting Lonzo wit...

re: Jrue Holiday bidding war - Epic Cajun
I don’t see anyway that the Bucks trade is really a loss. We basically opted out of paying Holiday (I’m guessing now) ~100 million during his 32-35 year seasons, while swapping Holiday and Favors for Bledsoe and Adams (over the next 3 seasons). Production wise, that should be a wash (or even a s...
