I’m all about mid-sized watches but anything below 34mm is a bit much, and I have a 6.25” wrist.

I still take 90 headed back to Metairie, if I'm traveling from west of Lafayette, so I don't have to deal with the bridge in Baton Rouge. It's only about a 20 minute difference.
I take 90 pretty much every time that I need to go to New Orleans from Lafayette, even if it’s 15-20 minutes longer. I’d much rather that than risk sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on I-10.

Another example of consolidation is Orleans Parish and the City of New Orleans. They don't have a Parish President or Parish Council, everything is consolidated into a City Council and City Mayor.
Well, isn’t the city of New Orleans the whole of Orleans Parish? I don’t think there are any unincorporated areas of Orleans Parish, so it makes sense for that to be consolidated.

So like every team that actually wants to win wants the guy who is 41 yet still played at or near an All-NBA level.
You think the Knicks would want LeBron?
It’s funny that the moment no one wants to pay LeBron max money it’s now no longer about the money to him

Soccer viewership is very fragmented. MLS might not be up to par. But if you include the various leagues, it's the second most watched sport in our country.
I find that hard to believe.

Isn’t this basically what happens when someone gets kicked out for targeting in CFB?
Do you think LSU would attempt to appeal to the NCAA if a Bama player had a targeting ban overturned ?

Maybe, but if Americans start featuring more routinely for these well-known teams in the top leagues, they'll care.
Some, maybe. But your average sports fan isn’t going to be interested in soccer to a great extent until the competition here in the US is up to par. Is that ever going to happen? Who knows?

Will be difficult to create a top league that can't participate in Champions League.
Yeah I get it, but IMO that’s the main reason why soccer hasn’t taken off here in the US. We basically have the equivalent to Euro-league basketball in the MLS. It’s just too low of a tier for the average American to care about.

Once you start following a specific team (for whatever reason that is), you’ll get hooked and it doesn’t take very long for them to become one of “your teams” I picked Liverpool cause one of the first games I watched on tv was the 2005 Champions League final aka the miracle in Istanbul. Steven Gerrard was also my favorite player. These days you can watch any premier league team you want. They used to really only show the “big 6” teams on tv so choosing one of those logically made the most sense Now, I’m just as emotionally attached to Liverpool games as I am for Astros and LSU
Call me crazy, but I can’t get emotionally hooked as a fan for a team that isn’t local. I’ve never understood people who could be Lakers fans while living in Louisiana, and I’m not saying that as an insult, I just can’t make myself care about a team that I have no “connection” to.

Sure. Sure. Sure. Just like all the Swimming and Curling that we watch outside of the Olympics.
I think if the USA had a top league with matches played in the USA, then that would create more fans in the USA. The timing of matches and the disconnect between our location and the locations of top teams is one of the main reasons why people don’t watch here. If the MLS was a top 5 league people would watch it and attend games.

How does Belgium get to appeal something that has no bearing on them? They weren’t involved in the match where the red card occurred. This is absurd
Even though I’m sure that FIFA is like, “sure we’ll hear your appeal, wink wink”

Why have a country's President allegedly get involved in internal rule enforcement?
If you would read the part of your comment that I took umbrage with, it had nothing to do with the president getting involved with this specific event. You said that the US president shouldn’t even know the name of the president of a huge international event taking place in his country

Do you realize every sports team in America and beyond complains about the refs and how their respective league handles things?
Sure, but outwardly talking about how you are disappointed that your opponent’s best player will be available is soft. It’s not like they are upset with how a play/call affected one of their matches, they are just crying because they wanted an easier match against the USA.

Do you realize how soft it is to outwardly state that you are upset that the opposing team’s best player is available to play against you? If that’s their mindset they’ve lost before the match even starts.
