re: Who were some of the worst shooters, but successful NBA players? - Epic Cajun
Jimmy Butler hasn’t had a season better than 24.5% from 3 as a member of the Heat....

re: Whiskey/Bourbon/Scotch appreciation thread Volume III - Epic Cajun
I realize the barrel strength sib is a different beast.
Yeah, it’s pretty great. I tend to favor low rye ryes, so it’s right in my wheelhouse. The single barrel barrel strength rye is much better than the single barrel barrel strength bourbons from Old Forester, IMO. I don’t know ...

If he’s moving up that high, I would be cool with trading down to 12 with OKC....

re: Whiskey/Bourbon/Scotch appreciation thread Volume III - Epic Cajun
Much sweeter, you can tell it’s more of a low rye rye, than Willett, which is typically higher rye content. Sweet candy, caramel, licorice. Not super herbal....

re: Whiskey/Bourbon/Scotch appreciation thread Volume III - Epic Cajun
Nah, I’m in DC at Jack Rose. I do have the WU picks waiting for me when I get back home, so I will get some tasting notes out on those as soon as I open them. For this flight, the 6 yr bourbon was the star. Red fruits, cinnamon, a bit of raisin. The 8 yr bourbon was wild, first taste was light...

re: The character factor for the Pelicans draft picks - Epic Cajun
UA used Herb as a point forward much of the time under Avery and Oats. He brought the ball up, initiated the offense, and was one of the primary guys to force a drive when things got stagnant.
And Sochan was getting more playing time at point forward later in the season, too. Rememb...

re: Fischer: Pels 8th pick a likely trade target, either back or for a vet. - Epic Cajun
He lists OKC as a possible move back target.
The farthest I'd want to move back would be 10 or 11. Really want to walk away from the draft with one of: Jeremy Sochan Bennedict Mathurin AJ Griffin Johnny Davis And, I don't think that's a guarantee if you move all the way ...

re: In The NO podcast with The Athletic draft expert Sam Vecenie - Epic Cajun
How does Sochan compare to Herb? On the surface he seems kind of redundant.
They are similar defensively, but Sochan can guard the 5. Having 2 guys that can put out all defensive performances isn't a bad thing ...

re: The character factor for the Pelicans draft picks - Epic Cajun
What is Sochan's ceiling
A switchable small ball 5 that can hit an open 3 and even create a bit with the ball in his hands. Basically the perfect compliment to Zion in the front court. ...

re: The character factor for the Pelicans draft picks - Epic Cajun
If you’re going to reach for a Sochan type at 8
It's barely a reach. He's most commonly mocked around 10-11. It's not like there is a consensus at the back of the lottery. ...

re: The character factor for the Pelicans draft picks - Epic Cajun
Herb showed his improvement on offense in college. it wasn't a mystery when he was drafted. He went from a 50% FT shooter his first 2 years to a 71% FT shooter his senior year, and has done even better in the NBA.
So Herb is proof that someone with elite defense and mediocre to bad o...

re: The character factor for the Pelicans draft picks - Epic Cajun
That’s why I tend to lean toward Sochan, a dude that is that good defensively has to have that “want it” factor. We can figure out the offensive side with him (see Herbert Jones)....
As for the reigning Pac-12 Player of the Year in Mathurin, the wing measured in at 6-foot-6 in shoes with a 6-foot-9 wingspan and an 8-foot-8 standing reach. He weighed in at 204.6 pounds with 5.7% body fat.
...
