Withholding medication is bad. Making them sleep at the frat house is nothing. Those houses are full of rooms people sleep in.

Not sure which is more pathetic in frat hazing:

Pledges taking it because their need to belong is so great

Or

Frats giving it because their social status satisfaction is so weak.

Hazing in the band, sports, military, at some jobs, etc...

I'm not defending hazing. I'm just saying there are frats that don't haze and there are non-frats that haze.

I was told that much of that was at the presidents direction.
very likely. F King was a gigantic fig who was also an alcoholic and wanted to point the attention away from him as much as possible.

I had a friend who was a cheerleader.

Their one day initiation process had more forced alcohol consumption than the entirety of my pledgeship, and I was in one of the bigger and more traditional fraternities.

This was the way it was framed unfortunately. It wasn’t withheld, merely held for safekeeping. The intentions were good but in hindsight wasn’t the smartest decision since one of the mama’s caught wind of it.

Exactly...you are going to experience some form of hazing at some point in life. Its all how you deal with it. LSU is hellbent to get rid of all frats at this point.

Frats ebb and flow. Its dependent on the class right above the pledges....if they got it bad, they generally tend to pass it on because they had to do it.

I'll pour one out for the old Lambda Chi brothers tonight in light of this thread. It was one of the better well rounded frats back in the day.

Yeah, they had some decent dudes when I was there. Surprised to hear they went that hardcore later on. Still have a great house, though. I know Pike isn’t filling it up enough to frick it up

These threads pop up frequently. I was in a fraternity and yes...alcohol, sleep deprivation and pseudo slave labor exists.

My Question is, has there ever been a sorority banned from campus?

My wife was in a sorority and I would tease her about their initiation. "Let me guess, y'all are naked, holding candles and chanting to Athena".

"No, we also did not have a bar, our Coke machine dispensed Coke, we did not have a marijuana patch growing in the woods nearby, we did not dig a swimming pool in the front yard and have deer stands in the pine trees for cannonballs wearing a only a grass skirt, we did not have fires on the floor, and no one in my sorority drove a motorcycle or a truck".

"Why did you join"?

Not sure what it is now but over 50% of alumni donations were from Greeks. LSU pushed but didnt shove

Angela Guillory is a horrible human. She’s an alum of my sorority, but from a different campus. She’s a lying sack of shite. I can promise you no one from my chapter considers her a sister.

Maaaaaan.........you don't know good. Empty out a can or two throw in some raw chunks of onions and copious amounts of garlic....mix in a bowl then get an ice cream scoop and plop it on a plate....it's like a religious experience

Don't even get me started with mashed Vienna Sausages with ginger powder....a Michelin star worthy meal
