I was in the area and drove by the see the KE house. I forgot how nice Lamba Chi was then saw Pike on it and was confused.

My favorite is how DG is currently at the DKE house while they redo/rebuild their house. They're using the DKE "chapter room" (hazing torture chamber) as their dining hall

Those poor girls can't even imagine what things have gone on in that room. I mean i've slept in the bedrooms in the DKE house. I hope, for the DG's sake, they put some major $$ into remodeling while they're there.

I’d imagine it would just be a slap on the wrist after they built that huge new house in the last 10 years.

If they didn't build that house, they would have been off campus by now

My fraternity was kicked off while at LSU, so we were very annoyed when Kappa Sig got their brand new house (we had one coming down the pipeline had we not been kicked off) and therefore just wasn't allowed to get into real trouble.

Angela whatever her name was completely wanted to sacrifice fraternities for her own gain. Many too blind to see what she was.

As far as Kappa Sig goes, they called Greek affairs onn us because we had this cool.pigmy goat with a massive set of balls. He was hilarious. They said we were making fun of them since they had just gotten back on campus from the barnyard party incident

Yep, she's the one. There'd be like an off campus Pike hazing event and she would in turn ban all greek life from the parade grounds. It was insane.

It didn't entirely ruin college, but things were vastly different between my freshman and senior year.

Never understood how that level of hazing was deemed OK by any chapter or Fraternity. I know it's never 'officially' accepted, but still happens. Of course, things change over time, but the this crap never seems to go away.

Greek Life director had a real hard on for the older fraternities. Not to say drugs and alcohol didn't play a big part, but it was as if all of the rules started to get enforced for the first time out of nowhere.

All the rules around fraternities made being a fraternity expensive so they expanded pledge classes to fund parties, tailgates, ect

Once you start allowing out of state kids with no real ties, they act up and do dumb shite. Not to say fraternities didn’t always do dumb shite but expanding the pool increases the likelihood of it.

Dudes Texas suburbs aren’t really going to care if he hazes some kid from New Orleans. When everyone is more or less from the same high schools there is some social backlash from parents and alums that keeps people in check to varying degrees. Like we can’t be the coke frat cause my dad or future employers are going to hear about it. We can do coke just keep it on the DL.

Apparently, we were a bunch of dirty bastards who would rather frick then fight. Frat historians floated the theory that fraternity "leadership" attempted to replace Mike the Tiger with an emotional support sheep named Earline that was kept in the attic for initiation purposes. Still others say that a social chairman named Murph who had a conspicuous New Iberia haircut, fueled by a garbage can of jungle juice, accidentally declared Lambda Chi an independent republic, where for 3 glorious weeks a benevolent regime founded on "bourbon, year-around South Seas and chicks, man" reigned supreme. The truth, however, is that we were brought in for "lacking institutional values" to which the brothers simply said "correct" thus ending the meeting and their long reign over LSU's social calendar.

I actually have a copy of the initial cease-and-desist letter which refers to "a sustained pattern of exceptional decision-making deficiencies". During the official hearing we were surprised to learn that "hold my beer" isn't recognized as parliamentary procedure. Our risk management officer argued that we had a very strict standard of saying before any and all crimes and misdemeanors "y'all probably shouldn't", the Dean then demanded accountability, and we gave him three aliases and a forwarding address and stormed out in protest. Also, because it was "drinking with Lincoln " night at a local watering hole and we were scandalously tardy.

I guess we knew we were in trouble when police stopped asking us who was responsible and started asking us who was still conscious. History will remember us unfairly. Mostly because historian interviewed the witnesses. Those who lived through it remain brothers to this day. Some may even live amongst you.

They kill barnyard animals again?

I dated an AOII (not sure how to do the pi symbol ) at southeastern and she told me that for their initiation, they released a chicken in the living room of whatever house they were in, and each sororistitute had to catch and kill one with their bare hands

LSU has wanted that property for quite a while. The plan a while ago was to cull out some frats from old row and push the remainder to the Lakes.

My weird affinity for potted meats served in unconventional ways came from Hell Week

Spam......served in many different ways
Vienna Sausages
Canned corned beef
Deviled Ham

And my favorite......can of Sardines served with mini wheats

Not sure which is more pathetic in frat hazing:

Pledges taking it because their need to belong is so great

Or

Frats giving it because their social status satisfaction is so weak.

There was also a scandal where one of the greek life office employees at LSU was creating fake profiles on the LSU rush website in order to try and "catch" fraternities breaking rules. It was a bizarre time for greek life.

I was told that much of that was at the presidents direction.

Oh frick off. It’s just good natured fun. Course some frats take it too far but in general all the pledges at mine had a great time doing stupid shite.

Having lawn mower races at 3 am.
Sitting on ice blocks racing around the house.
Going to get cigarettes for an active at Death Valley Shell.

And the pledges pulled pranks on actives too. It wasn’t one way. Kidnapping them and dropping them off with just underwear on in the middle of nowhere. Putting geese in their rooms that shite all over.

Stuff like that.

You don’t know jack shite about fraternities.
