This is how I feel about goalie. Too many freaks out there are developed at high level in football/baseball/basketball, and probably played all 3 as a kid, with skills that translate. Tracking a ball in the air, highpointing, reacting to balls off a bat, defensive angles, ball distribution, punting a football, etc.

Since goalie is the Right Field of youth soccer, there’s not a large pool of guys with ability that started early. US soccer should have their eye on every SEC TE/WR/DE/LB/DB that gets cut before NFL training camp. I bet there’s 1 a year with the right mental toughness & instincts ready for technical development. We should always be elite at goalie.

Field players, I don’t know. But to me there’s absolutely no way we should ever suck at goalie. There’s no shortage of 6’5” freaks with soft hands and short area quickness that couldn’t quite cut it in the NFL. US youth sports culture, you put your best player at shortstop or scoring all the goals or mom will get mad and put them on another team that will.

That and improving the light synchronization has made a big difference. It was tough to brake for the next light in mid air.

Also, safer footing for area residents to play Frogger in the middle of the night.

Yeah, weird he said “there’s the miracle”. Definitely told to be on the lookout for something at the end of the game.

It’s actually helpful as you get older and your kids/family are all over the place.

Just establish your hotspots up front. For instance, my wife thinks Chicas Locas is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Houston.
