re: LSU becoming more selective with admissions after nearly a decade of increasing enrollment

Figure out how to get kids to regularly read actual books early in elementary school and the ACT scores will take care of themselves.

In K-12, just about every subject and test comes down to reading comprehension. The kids who struggle the most are the ones who don’t read a lot or at all growing up.

There will still be some dumb students who got a 3.5+ GPA at some shitty ghetto school. Especially if they further gamed things by taking the easiest classes and/or classes with the easiest grading teachers at their crappy school.

Trying to remember what LSU admission's requirements were in 95 when I was a freshman, I asked google:

Was the ACT not required back then for admission? I took the ACT and I remember it being required, but google says otherwise:

Now that LSU is fielding a professional team, that shouldn't matter.

They’d be fine with a 3.3 and a 27

And by not leaving anyone behind, i think he meant they may be more likely to accept low gpa and lower ACT students at the lsu satellite campuses. Then, if such students prove themselves and excel at the satellite campuses, they will be reconsidered if they reapply at lsu flagship
