The way you do that is with scholarship money. LSU and Louisiana gives a lot (TOPS) of money to average/above average students. They don’t reward those more elite students with over 30 ACTs at a high enough amount. They will have to prioritize those students more.

So nothing about the OP really makes sense
LSU have never before had more top students based on standardized testing.
Only had to submit ACT or SAT if their GPA was below 3.5. Over 30 on the ACT isn't exactly "top student" territory either and certainly doesn't mean they have the fundamentals required for collegiate level classes. Standardized tests are little more than a brain dumping session.

This. My kid was in the TOPS Honors GPA tier. For all of her hard work, her reward was only $400 more per semester than the average GPA student.
$6,400 per year is a damn joke when LSU is $12,000 per year in-state tuition.

bullshite, its shows actual intelligence and is a way better indicator that GPA
this is long overdue and they need to require score no matter the gpa due to gpa inflation.
slow raising that up.
if you dont make it, go to a satellite campus and transfer...Rouse is right. hopefully it slow transitions to everyone must submit within 2 years and slow starts being raised to were we can get into the top 150 again and then top 100 with the boom coming from spacex
frick every single person that is against this! and stop taking minority students and restrict foreign students to 1% of the population of the main campus. frankly should cut out all middle eastern and Indian students too but argument for another day.

The ACT should be required for acceptance at LSU. A 4.0 at Istrouma High is not equal to a 4.0 at Dunham or Catholic

No incoming freshman were required to submit ACT/SAT scores for the incoming freshman class of 2025 or the current 2026 class (or the several years before).
The below 3.5 GPA requirement is for 2027 fall’s class meaning scholarships and Honors college will still likely be rewarded to many with inflated GPAs due to not requiring ACT/SATs for GPAs above 3.5. This will also continue to make it difficult for audits to find any bias in these holistic committee decisions.
All will be required to submit scores starting in 2028, but there will not be any minimum score requirements and can be diluted down to just being one of many attributes for the admissions committee to holistically consider. At least it will be easier to tell which GPAs were likely inflated, but the continued holistic approach can still reward some inflated ones with scholarships. Just maybe not in as large of quantities as under Tate.
