GFS is actively trying to frick with people in this thread
I actually think that landfall could be pretty accurate, in my totally amateur and unprofessional guess. I think it'll be on the eastern side of the latest cone, BUT THAT'S JUST MY OPINION FOR DISCUSSION ONLY.

A very very slight east shift from the new GFS

Kid's probablynot gonna die, but that could be an uncomfortable few days with no power. Does he have any friends closer to campus he can stay with?

He is actually in an apartment across Kaliste Saloom from River Ranch. Older place but decent part of town. He wants to show initiative by staying so he can work and pick up shifts to impress management after the storm. Can’t fault the kid.
Hope he's on a top floor, that area floods. It will also be a rocky next few days, Laffy may get hit hard.

Just checking in, why the f*** does it look likes it’s making a v-line straight for the mouth of the river??
If this has been covered, which I’m sure it has, I apologize

I think it's two things
Laura is expanding to the north but still moving WNW at 300 degrees
The projection of a curved Earth onto a flat image distorts actual motion

New towers in SW quadrant.
Is there a plane going out yet?

That’s what I’m saying. I don’t see any westerly movement at all

Your son wants to stay and get hammered with his friends for a hurricane party. Either that or he’s chasing tail. Probably both. Solid arse cover story though. Props

Man I know we’re dumbasses and the NHC are professionals, but southeast LA looks like we’re in the wheelhouse from that gif

Not sure how 75 miles is a big miss, per NHC, any landfall within their cone of error is a forecast verification
75 miles isn’t a big miss, on average.
What I said was they won’t miss this storm by more than 75 miles. Predicting where a hurricane goes when it’s being controlled by a ridge/trough is relative child’s play. You have to remember that 80 miles or so is the average, not the median.
I standby what I said, especially since it triggered tgrbaitn08 so much.
