As far as I am concerned our entire tech industry should have some form of ITAR. Were getting to the point where technological advances come quick and they need to be secured.
This helps twofold because then it kicks out all the fricking non US Citizens

A bunch of folks who looked like world beaters against the Jags look like they dont want to play this game right now

Holy frick. I’m in Houston watching on ESPN unlimited. This dual female accounting crew is beyond words.
One is cheering like her grandson is playing.
Had to mute the game because of this.

Defense getting worked. Where the frick is Heldman at

I have a home in McKinney. In my experience…what you’re claiming is overstated. The McKinney issue was over the city council allowing a mosque to be built…right? I don’t spend much time out there anymore…but that’s what I heard.
Correct. The contention is coming from a petition to remove committee members after going against the will of the people. The ex mayor has threatened to dox/report people to their workplace if they signed it. Its real interesting stuff since you own property, you probably should look deeper into it.

Plano? I have found this to be overstated. I have a house in north Dallas. Nothing around me has changed. Certainly not a dramatic shift one way or the other.
Its so overstated that there's essentially a culture war in McKinney with the ex mayor and its constituency online. Frisco has changed demographics from single digits in early 2000's to now almost 33% of its population.
Edit: Also, to the statement that most are against it. I am not quite sure from the responses on this board on this topic.

It’s a net increase and is not indicative of a replacement.
Roughly 90% of the job openings since 2020 have gone to foreign people.
The begin date is the beginning of the pandemic. So we know a lot of the job losses were temporary. Many were people who learned it’s easier and less stressful to just coast and let the government send them a check (speculation). Many were also foreign workers already. They were easy to dispose of from the payrolls. Once businesses were able to return to full operating status, the “new” hires are also composed of the status quo (they replaced other foreign workers).
The “90%” figure refers to the net increase in employment among foreign born workers since the pandemic era benchmark, not to 90% of job openings or proof that foreign-born workers replaced U.S. born workers. Since February 2020 includes the start of the COVID employment shock, the comparison includes the recovery of temporary pandemic job losses.
Foreign born workers were disproportionately affected early in the pandemic, so some of the later increase likely reflects their return to employment. But BLS data cannot determine whether individual workers were replaced, why someone lost a job, or whether a later hire replaced another foreign-born worker.
So after all of that, what is your actual position? Are you for or against Foreigners replacing Americans in the Tech Sector?
We have conservative influencers on X celebrating this Micron deal for Idaho, but they are the largest H1B employer in the State.
North Texas, where I live, has practically changed demographics in the last 10 years.

If you actually read the rest of the thread you would see the BLS and Pew Research post.

The BLS cant even track who obtains a new position that is created.
If we have a hundred thousand new jobs in the US and there is an increase of 90K in foreign employment, heck all 90 thousand may have been replacing existing jobs and none took the new jobs.
While foreign born workers are increasing its not 90% of all "new" jobs. 114K h1b visas were issued last year and we had 20 million illegals enter the country under biden, where do you think all the foreign born workers are coming from?
I would assume the additional counts are coming from OPT or H4 (spouse not the kids obv)

I get the H-1B outrage. I really do. But if you guys do not want them here, should we recall the approx 6 million Americans who work overseas on Visa?
Absolutely. Anything to get Americans back into seats in AMERICA. Im not really interested in helping other countries until we have our own under control.

Pew Research Link
BLS says 80%
So not quite 90 but depending on who you ask the question to, you will get a different answer.
So can we agree that since the BLS is the defacto compiler of this information, the real number is 80%?

Based on data from the U.S. Bureau of Statistics analyzed across post-2020 economic recovery timeframes, nearly 80% (or roughly 4.7 million) of the net new job growth in the United States has gone to foreign-born workers. While Pew Research Center tracks immigrant workforce shares (estimating roughly 31 to 33 million foreign-born workers comprising about 19% of the active labor force), the specific "8 out of 10 new jobs" metric originates directly from government labor surveys rather than a dedicated Pew repor

That and young adults simply don't want true starter homes, they want to buy what their parents have now. They want granite counter tops through out, custom trim work, solid wood interior doors, tall ceilings, high-end appliances, smart lighting and controls, etc. They want move-in-ready on their standards now because they have no intention of doing any serious work beyond the most basic maintenance for years to come.
You seem to suffer from brain rot but just so you know its currently CHEAPER to buy a new home than to buy a refurbished because builders are buying points (as a form of rebate) because in *some* markets house stockpiles are overflowing but unlike normal conditions when pricing would actually come down quickly, these are not for whatever reason a smarter RE person would know than I.

Yeah, corporate oligarchy are just like any other tyranny. If they are perceived to be too powerful and too detached from the citizenry, some form of rebellion is going to happen.
Those who live and die by the stock ticker will continue to sneer at it, as they did when they dismissed Trump as useless "populism". Then populism failed. Socialism has always found purchase in similar circumstances. We can turn back, but those whose entire life is based on their net worth will never see it.
Exactly and it seems like for now, they have the legal backing.

A legal ruling has given Companies the ability to outright advertise H-1B or any Visa over young Americans and face no reprocussions:
Brietbart Article on Legal Job Discrimination
As people bitch in other thread about why young Americans are moving toward socialism, this President (plus Biden) continue to put the screws to its younger population. Roughly 90% of the job openings since 2020 have gone to foreign people.
These are the things that allow Socialism to fester. Young people cant find a job, cant start a family, cant buy a house, etc. We wonder why they want to burn it down.

One state election outcome != a GE.
You need that crowd to come out or your toast. There's literally ZERO CHANCE to win a Federal Election. You dont have enough Boomers. They are reaching / have reached the avg life expectancy age in the US.
This is what happens when you do literally nothing for young people and base your actions on preserving wealth for the elderly
