Ah yes....thank God they are enforcing paying for a tag for permission to drive your property. Thank God for the government

I already pay too much damn taxes now, you better look at your property tax bill and you will be steamed. East Baton Rouge property taxes are beyond ridiculous. Goofy assed cops can’t even solve homicides , young college kids being slaughtered at railroad crossings, shootings all over at all times.
My 2020 sticker is hanging tight.

No it doesn’t.
Back of the sticker literally says “expires last day of the month stamped.”
So if the law allows 30 day grace period, that means until the end of the following month.

You’d think by now he’d remember that the antique vehicle with the antique plates doesn’t need an inspection sticker.
Wait wait wait wait...so if I get Antique plates for my 1997 Jeep Wrangler, I don't need an inspection sticker?
edit: dangit, just looked it up.. gotta wait another 15 years.
" B. Antique Cars. Motor vehicles which are forty (40) years old or older and which are used primarily for exhibition in shows, parades, tours and other special uses and not for general transportation, and which are registered and licensed as antique as provided in L.R.S. 32:707(L) shall be exempt from the inspection requirements of this chapter."

My Neighbor has an old beater truck he uses for work. The inspection sticker he has on the windshield is from 2004

Actually qccoreing to the DOT officer that stops me to inspect my big rig, it expires on the same date you got it but a year or 2 depending if you have the 2 year later.
For instance I had my Inspection done Dec 28, 2021. Well mine officially expired Dec 28,2023.

When I worked out in Crowley back in 2006, I saw a 93 Ford Ranger with a 12/94 sticker on it. He was a manager at Wal-Mart

Just got a ticket for expired inspection sticker.
Shreveport City Cop got me yesterday too.
Mine went out 9/22. He said the new year makes the 22 stickers stand out now that none of them are valid.
I went to get a new one and had 2 stations tell me they did not have stickers yet for the new year and everyone around town was out and calling each other.
My attorney said to get it inspected asap and get the ticket and a copy of my receipt for the new sticker and he'd see what he can do.
$178 if he can't get it thrown out.

That’s what you get for thinking.

I have a 1969 LA license plate and no inspection sticker on my old chevy. It is registered as an antique, but I keep a copy of the LA statute exempting the need for a sticker inside the glovebox just in case the occasion arises and I need it.

This is how they pay for their salaries and pensions.

Where’s the video of the encounter?
Did you repeatedly ask if you were detained?
Did you explain that you are a sovereign citizen?
Did you demand to speak to the manager…I mean supervisor?

I don't even have a sticker on my windshield. Been that way for three years.

Read the law. Yes, you do.
Example: Mine expired 12/22 meaning on 1/1/23 it was expired. However the exception in the statute allows that it is NOT in violation if expired less than 1 calendar month. Meaning it is essentially good through 01/30/23. I try to get mine on the 2/1/23 to max out the sticker.

That this is what we have our cops doing is ridiculous.

So many of our state government "fees" have little-to-nothing tying them to the public policy behind the reason for the "fees."
