Home improvement financing has some of the most asinine mark ups I’ve ever seen in my life.
My father in law has "a guy" for everything. He recently changed out his 4 ton unit. He bought the unit himself for $4k and his guy changed it out for $2K
re: itinerary on vacation: yes or no?

My FIL is just like Clark Griswold when it comes to itineraries. Every minute is basically mapped out when he goes on vacation.

Yep. My wife HATES flowers but I'll be damned if I don't send her flowers to her work on Valentine's Day. It's all to show off.

We sit in the back pew with our 4 year old and newborn to limit distractions
My in laws would tell us they will help when our kids were little by sitting near us. When we would get to the church, they are sitting in the very first pew. We left after 5 minutes. Come to find out, my father in law gets upset he if can't sit in the very first pew. Wants to to bring our kids up there. Not happening.
After the birth of our second, my wife got on an IUD and I could literally count on one hand how many times we had sex in FIVE years. After 5 years, she had it removed and it was like night and day. She turns 40 soon and cannot keep her hands off me and wants it basically every day. I'm grateful but I'm also tired, boss.

I had a nightmare my wife was pregnant. She's almost 40 and I'm 46. I need to get clipped soon.

Limits on screen time. We are HARD on our kids about screen time, but my wife and I often melt into the couch scrolling social media or playing iPhone games
Yeah, but you've done your time and earned the right to be able to do that. They haven't.
A 2.5% longevity increase at 15, 20, and 25 years. Other than that, nothing
Wife got one. $15
re: How Many of You Have Inherited Significant Assets?

Wife inherited land from her grandparents. Seven acres. Don't want to build on it because it's in the sticks and we can't sell it. I guess eventually we'll pass it down to our kids.

I absolutely HATE being late to anything and if on the rare occasion that I am late, I'll send a courtesy text or call to that person/business and let them know. My parents were never late to anything. We never ran late growing up, even as a family with four small children. The military teaches you to be 15 minutes early and the whole "hurry up and wait".

I was in the Air Force at that time, and I heard that story....
You ever check out the Air Force Dockets? Some of them are pretty nuts.

Damn thats cheap
Im paying 1800/6 months for 2 vehicles
$2,280/yr for 3 vehicles. Granted, my newest vehicle is a 2011.
When are teachers going to learn that they aren't going to get away with it? It's not worth losing your family, career and reputation .
I have a hacked version of 2024 Pro Plus. It has a license that never expires.
re: Most messed up thing you’ve seen in Walmart
Posted by cheobode on 5/4/26 at 8:12 am to Darth_Vader
I worked at Wal-Mart during Black Friday while I was in college. This was 2004 and the big item that year was $10 DVD players. We had two tables stacked with those things and plenty more in the back. Two older ladies grabbed the same last DVD player on one of the tables, they start tugging back and forth and yelling. One lady full on decks the other lady right in the face and she falls into the other table full of DVD players knocking them over.

I messed up and posted an old office trailer for free on Marketplace
My father in law inherited a piece of property with an older house on it. Small(800 sq ft), needed work so he posted it on marketplace for $5k to be moved. The foundation was solid but it did need new flooring throughout and some other cosmetic items. He just wanted it gone but didn't want to post it for free because of the idiots. He said it was the most nerve wracking experience. He had gotten moving quotes to move it from $15-20k and people were asking him to go down on the price because of the moving costs. One lady came look at it and said "it needed too much work". Lady, what do you expect? The house is selling for 5 THOUSAND DOLLARS!

I don't like knocking on these guys because their tech school is pretty tough and I wouldn't do it but their job is basically a glorified security guard. I wanted the Air Force to benefit my needs, not the other way around.

Nothing like a full military career of standing at the gate, usually with shitty leadership. I felt bad for those guys.
Yep, constantly on standby, getting "voluntold" to do shitty detail and just an overall horrible job. Unless you plan on being a civilian cop when you get out, it's pretty much useless for your future. Plus, a lot of civilian departments frown upon hiring ex military police because of UCMJ and you basically have get them out of that military mindset.

Back in the day most branches gave you a guaranteed specific job unless you went in under the open general category.
This category is how they filled the jobs no one wanted.
All but one of the guys that went Open General in my BMT flight got Security Forces as their job. It's a sucky job that no one wants. If I had to list job preference, it would be dead last.
