If there is no heaven or hell, does the purpose & meaning of your life change?

Believers will never know if they are wrong.
Atheists will never know if they are right.

I don't live my life in expectations of after life rewards. I sincerely believe Christ was the way to a better life on earth. If I am rewarded after death, great. If not I haven't wasted my time on Earth.

I don't necessarily believe in an afterlife because the thought of living forever in heaven is terrifying. But I believe in being a good person and making the life I do have be enjoyable.

There is a Haven and Hell.

And hopefully that is the case.

My brain likes to know there is an end, the idea of eternity or even like infinity in space has always been hard to grasp.

every single human who ever lives will bow down before Christ some day. everyone will know.

If believers are right, they should eventually learn that they're right. They'd go to heaven after they die.

Atheists are the ones who would never learn that they're right. If atheists are right, then when you die, you just cease to exist, just like before you were born.


That's the whole reason for Pascal's Wager. Basically, it's theorized that there's no risk to believing in God and being wrong.

First, why risk it? At the least it’s the best way to keep the world civilized. If there’s no afterlife, it’s get away with whatever you can. I wouldn’t want to live in that world.

Any place not heaven is hell.

It shouldn't.

But, for some people, they need to think their is an omnipresent entity watching over them, wanting them to be on their best behavior.

For children, that person is Santa.
For adults, that person is God.

I attend church with my wife and think it is important to raise children in church, but I don't believe in our idea of a creator/Jesus resurrection. I don't voice this in church, however.
