Embiid is one of the biggest flopping Centers of all time.
I wouldn’t want to use him as any type of example to defend SGA, although there are some soft similarities.

I saw him at the Cajundome a year or two after his hit came out. It was only about 10% white and most of crowd was sorta booing him and I didn’t realize at time he wasn’t cool anymore.
The Ghetto Boys were the main group that headlined and had the energy from crowd.

If I’m allowed to include the time spent in sauna/steam room and cold plunge, might get within neighborhood of total. Those increase heart rates and have similarities with brisk walking.
Maybe 20% of total vigorous with 80% moderate.

Probably not. On a somewhat related topic, I probably wouldn’t ever do that brain scan technology in the Black Mirror episode where the Insurance company was seeking out witnesses to a random auto pedestrian accident.
BS Acct ‘99 LSU. CPA ‘03.
Two years public for regional Louisiana firms. 25 years Corporate rat race in Houston for O&G, Manufacturing, Engineering, HVAC, and Renewables. Mostly Controller roles for mid sized companies reporting up through International Parents.
Hoping to move into consulting in two years.

I worked for a company once that used a 3rd party to act as 1st line of defense to help lower WC claims. For example, minor finger cuts that don’t quite need stitches. If the finger does need stitches, then the 3rd party would guide them to seeking medical treatment and a likely formal claim.
Claims lead to higher WC Insurance rates for the company. Too many claims can really impact the rates significantly.
Minor strained back is another tricky one. If the company is paying you while providing lighter duties, probably shouldn’t be a claim.

The dysfunction at dinner sounds interesting.
In hindsight, the Chargers should’ve taken Larry Fitzgerald and kept Brees.
Brees with LT, Fitz, Gates could’ve been legendary.

Not yet but have been fearing that injury and Achilles the most over past 30 years. I still play basketball often with 20 year olds so feels like I’ll tear one eventually.
re: the gap between a million dollars and a billion dollars

I sort of believe in the old saying that money is the root of all evil. However, there are plenty that work hard in a legitimate field, save, possibly get a bit of luck along the way, and become Billionaires.
I will probably live my remaining years squeaking by, wishing I had more money, feeling some jealousy towards Billionaires. Sure there are a huge number of people with 1M net worth these days that are really struggling to get by day to day with limited liquidity. Or knowing how long they will live. Will I live to be 65 like my dad or 100 like my grandfather?

Like most of my past dogs from very different breeds, my female pug is a brilliant retard. Just in different ways.
He deserved to get ejected but I don’t think anything more.
Sort of ironic how just a few minutes earlier, Wemby got hit in face for the 2nd time in game (much less force than his elbow obviously) and Reggie complimented him on his restraint.
Was the whistle blown before the elbow? He was getting fouled at least by McDaniels.

My understanding is that McDermott missed some very significant liabilities for CB&I during the due diligence and never recovered.
re: Bengals are turning burrow into Dan Marino

Marino was my first favorite QB as a kid. Burrow my current favorite.
Late in Marino’s career, he had some foot injuries that led him to wearing some sort of boot or something while playing. I remember a TV announcer saying that Marino was even slower than usual in getting the handoffs to RB. Adding that the Dolphins never had running games in part due to his slowness and team scheme.
Marino could sling it like no other but does anyone have any thoughts on my one random memory of that announcer’s opinion?
I’ve also felt like Burrow brings out the best in his RBs and makes ‘Game Manager’ more a positive than the sometimes negative intention.

I really liked young Chevy but not as much after his peak. Compared to Bill Murray, Martin Short, & Steve Martin that are still funny as old men.
Spies Like Us was one of my favorites as a kid but would need to rewatch. I guess Fletch for now.

The guy who authored a book about that meeting died by suicide in Tuscaloosa after moving back there because he felt his life was being threatened (maybe in Phoenix).
I used to know the guy’s brother in law (Lafayette family) who confirmed the suicide story and completely discounted the conspiracy theory. Of course, he was a big Trump hater so always made me wonder.

Not sure if Professor Longhair shirt counts but I usually wear it around Mardi Gras season. This year during a gym outing on Saturday before Fat Tuesday.
I’ve had the shirt for about 20 years now and probably worn it 40 times total.

I broke my wrist at 18 and hand at 30 so I had to take about a month off lifting each time. My arm atrophied horribly but went back to normal fairly quickly after lifting again.
I jogged a little for exercise but not much else.

One of my friends has been spending her 25 year career on studying and fighting the coastal erosion in Louisiana.
I asked recently when Youngsville would cease to exist and 2070ish was best guess.

I’m 49 now and the guy I’m thinking about felt to be around my age. So I guess 52 is possible.
His name was definitely Matt but no idea about last name. A couple of the other pictures I’ve seen look exactly like him but 20 years older.

Does anyone know if Matt lived in Houston early 2000s, then moved to Austin for a year or two, before moving back to Houston 2007ish?
He looks a lot like a guy Matt that I played basketball with at the Augusta Y. It’s been so long ago that not sure if same guy (would’ve been mid to late 40s by now).

I’ve always dug The Crunge and my few college friends did too, although recently read some online reviews mocking it with unusual fervor (Zeppelin always got their share of immense hate). The bass drums and Plant are perfect, I often sing in my truck to that one. As they say, music is subjective.
I would also support any argument for several of their other albums being greatest of all time.
