I rarely get told I resemble anyone. I shave every 2 weeks on average but it grows thick.

Back in 2023, a coworker said I looked like the Property renovations twin with the beard. When I shaved the next week, I asked him if I looked like the other twin and he said not really.
There are a lot of things that can be done better with MLB. I follow stats but rarely watch games. Even when I go to my favorite sports bars in Houston area, the Astros are rarely on TV’s.

They better get it right next year.
While not my area of town, I’ve been to the VillaSport and Life Time locations in Cypress. Both are really nice.

Life Time a few more bells & whistles.
My town installed flashing yellow left turn lanes a few years ago that caused a lot of wrecks. It can be tough to see oncoming traffic when blocked by vehicles on opposing left turn lanes.

Of course, you still have to yield to the walkers, joggers, bikers on path. It’s nearly impossible to manage all of the above when you add the e-bikes coming so fast out of the wooded bike trails (The Woodlands).

Rarely any helmets worn. Perhaps requiring some sort of license & insurance would help.
It feels like ‘the system’ of money, war, and power has won against every generation.

The optimist in me believes our ultra information age will tilt in a more positive direction. It may require all of the generations working together.
People used to rave about Romo on air but seemed like last year the consensus was he is often annoying and unprepared.

I was always sort of neutral about him but can understand the annoying criticism.
I’ve always wanted to do one and especially the food allergy version. I remember Brees talking about having the food allergy test after his Rookie year with Chargers.

I get a lot of skin allergies when in woods.
What if there is no Heaven or Hell but there is Reincarnation. Each next life is impacted by how you live this one.

Would that change things?

How far does the Placebo Effect go?

Posted by litenin on 7/29/26 at 12:41 pm
We all first learned about the Placebo Effect in grade school but not much further than how believing something works can distort experiments or actually have an effect.. Or maybe someone believes Ibuprofen works better for them than Aleve so that actually happens in reality.

To take it many steps beyond, if you believe that Yogi didn’t eat for 60 years, did his belief that food is not necessary allow him to survive?

The algorithms for my Reels are now feeding me suggestions that our beliefs shape our realities. Maybe to the point if believing in Aliens becomes mainstream, then we will create them into existence.

I’m more interested in the discussion slightly beyond what we learned as kids but will always entertain the more far out stuff.
I heard talk about this HR on radio during commute. Obviously Yordan is big and powerful but is the sound more about not hitting the good part of bat?
I guess that I assumed something like this might be the case on a general scale. I have several friends that play regularly and feels like it could be gradually forming into an epidemic.
I don’t remember that Burrow 4th down against Auburn 2018 but vividly recall his interview on field after the big win and FG.

I’ve searched for that interview but could never find it. It was the first time hearing Burrow’s unique confidence in self and team.
Definitely not although fortunately it feels like I’m closer to the positive side than the full worst case potential scenario.
I was 3 months shy of 18 when I graduated HS. I was a starter on 5A playoff basketball team but felt like I would’ve been so much better physically if I were a year or two older like some of the other Seniors.
I found out that I had a hernia about 12 years ago but hasn’t bothered me so haven’t done anything yet.

I’ve heard countless stories in those 12 years about routine surgeries having problems. Makes me wonder if really that frequent or if I just notice them more. Now leaning toward doing nothing as long as possible.
I’m fortunate to not have any lingering injuries at 50ish even though I still play sports like basketball with 20 year olds and other semi intense exercise.

I’ve been hearing about BPC for a while and will probably have a need at some point. I’ve wondered if it would be good to take for general injury prevention and more youthful ligament health.

Not really but much better than last two companies I worked for. 25 years into Houston rat race makes 15 more years difficult to embrace.

Hoping to move to Belize in 2 years after current company sells off. That would require finding some sort of remote CPA work for US companies.
You are probably correct and fortunately I rarely hear either of them actually talk these days. It’s mostly reading about them here.
That story was huge back in day and I always thought he was guilty. Documentaries can be biased but they’ve proven local law enforcement buffoonery and media spins are the norm.

The difference between 10% and 15% looks very small while the difference between 15% and 20% is huge.

I’m guessing most of these types of comparisons are not always accurate.

I’ve never been sub 10% unless that’s what you are when born.
I’m a child of Boomers and always thought of them as the first generation to really battle the establishment. The past 5 years have made me wonder if it’s simply too difficult to overcome the establishment.

Does every generation have a common enemy but doesn’t fully realize it? Just another slice of being pitted against each other?
