Ian is fricking angry, look at all that lightning.
Horrifying. That is one gaping, capacious maw on that sucker. Visualise an EF3 tornado 30 miles in diameter...that's this nightmare.

Didn’t realize there were that many people in that area. Hope they evacuated.
That whole metro taking into account the rest of Fort Myers is just about 800,000. It's a big population center.
Also, I get a little bit triggered when people spell it "Meyers".

Yep, the eastern eyewall is definitely not as strong as the other quads.
Yeah, one tiny bit of good news may be that the strongest part of the eyewall is not the part with the wind blowing on shore.

Remember when hurricanes didnt bomb before shore?

Wow that basically wiped out a metro of 700k people

My friend has a place on the beach in Siesta Key. Sounds like insurance check time.

How long until one of these "I'm gonna take this eyewall in the face" meteorologists dies? They could easily set up audio, visual, scientific gear and do this remotely.

Live on Sanibel. Left yesterday afternoon. Sphincter tight. Not sure what’s best for now directionally. But man what an absolute million to one shot, Doc.

That reminds me of family trips as a kid. We didn't have cable, so I'd only see the weather channel when we'd be in a hotel or something
