Snook makes a lot of sense. The timing with Minear stepping down when he did I always thought was a cover up, to "protect" the dignity of the court.
But Snook;s marriage is damning in itself.
Guess that is why this is still a mystery, too many good candidates...

John Roberts’ chief of staff Jeffrey Minear is retiring effective Sept. 30, the high court announced Tuesday.
Minear will resign as Counselor to the Chief Justice of the United States as the justices prepare to take the bench for the October 2022 term with a new member, low approval ratings, and a publicly unresolved leak investigation of the Dobbs opinion that overruled Roe v. Wade.
