IDK what it is, but there must be some chain of decision making. Who made the decision to defer or not enforce ACT scores? Who appointed that person, etc . . . all the way up to Landry.

I knew the fall of 2026 was screwed as offers had gone out before the hires, and the interim was a big holistic guy. 2026 will be Tate’s last FU, but I didn’t expect the new guys to delay required tests on 3.5 GPAs and above for the fall of 2027 or water it down so much by continuing the holistic admissions with ACTs just one of many attributes the leftist professors and other members can ignore for the fall of 2028.

Hopefully with ACT scores an investigation or audit will be triggered especially if scholarships handed out to those with inflated GPAs for the fall 2028 incoming class, but 1 more freshman classes based on Tate’s BS and recruitment push followed by 2 that aren’t going to be that much different will be difficult to overcome.

I still think some of Tate’s endowment success was tied to pushing more scholarships to black students. Thats who he recruited and then scammed the sports fans into believing his rising ACT scores bull shite.

My son graduates high school this month, so I’ve been browsing college admissions social media pages the last 6 months as we’ve researched schools. I can say that the vast majority of out of state parents that were posting about their kids headed to LSU this fall were black.

And likely too many who bring the broken culture with them instead of escaping from it.

They only want to be the flagship university for sports, not academics.

Opposite of the Ivy League schools— they have won a National champion football, baseball or basketball in over 80 years. Ivy League schools put academics first!!! LSU puts academics at the bottom.

I was stunned at the lack of academic scholarships LSU gives. It’s basically TOPS and a few free rides. Whereas the other state schools offer supplements to TOPS I guess they would rather have students “paying” full rides via loans.

The massive rise in free or close to free education for lower class is leading to more and more full pay students if you are middle or upper class. Rising costs are also being used to offset the entitlement/free education for lower class. This is not unique to LSU. It is a major issue that continues to get worse and middle class students are being priced out of good schools as a result,

My oldest son took the act , 1st try 28.
Has a 3.5+ GPA for 3 years is a JR and could give 2 shits less about college. He wa is to fish, hunt or be in a blind.
I cant blame him he has done everything we ask w/ out trying. If he applied himself he could turn into a communist at Harvard or Princeton.

First number on the left is need based Scholarships/Grants and then non-need based Scholarships/Grants

From Federal
$55,117,956 $3,137,417

From State all states, not only the state in which your institution is located
$62,062,891 $49,939,109

From LSU - Institutional: Endowed scholarships, annual gifts and tuition funded
grants, awarded by the college, excluding athletic aid and tuition waivers (which are reported below).
$76,991,066 $45,895,782

Scholarships/grants from external sources (e.g. Kiwanis, National Merit) not awarded by the college
$4,829,154 $5,232,813

Total Scholarships/Grants
$199,001,067 $104,205,121

I think you have to be a certain type to get LSU scholarships. They also love Pell grant eligible enrollees from out of state.

First off, instead of immediately implementing the test score requirement for all applicants. They pushed it back to Summer 2028.

Unfortunate irony

A lot of people shite on Nicholls, but considering the combined amount of appropriated state money and tuition/fee money that university has to operate on.....they do a damn good job in programs such as nursing, the culinary institute, education, English dept....

I took classes at LSU, Southeastern, UL, Bama, and Nicholls.

Nicholls and Thibodaux was my favorite.
By a lot.

LSU keeps talking out both sides of its mouth tbh. If “holistic review” can override everything then people are obviously gonna question how serious the standards really are.

that was never going to happen. What do you do about accepted applicants that met the prior requirements that may not have had time to meet the new requirements? I can agree that waiting until 2028 is kinda shitty but it does at least give kids that may need it time to prepare.
