A nice lab grown diamond is only a couple weeks salary. Really hard to beat.

I remember becoming like a gemologist or some shite for a month going through on Blue Nile looking under the microscope for flaws, etc.
Diamond was $3,500.00 or so.

Bought mine from a buddy that’s a jeweler. First thing he asked was shape and size. My wife wanted a pear shaped one which is not a common cut these days and considered old fashion. He picked up the phone and called a Jewish guy then a Russian guy both in New York. His next question was are you opposed to buying a blood diamond or one that had paperwork proving it’s origin and some kid with an AK-47 pointed at his head did not dig it up. I told him I didn’t give a shite just find what I’m looking for. The very next day Fed X delivered a huge rock to my buddies jewelry store. We looked at it, he appraised it for 12k and I paid him $5,800 in cash. Recently had it appraised again for insurance purposes and it appraised for 15k. So my answer is try to buy a loose diamond and it helps if you know a small hometown jeweler because the one I bought is damn near too big and very clear on the grading clarity scale. I’m assuming I bought a blood diamond.

$12k. She loves it. It's a beautiful ring and I don't regret if for one second. She'd love whatever I bought regardless of how much it was. I just didn't want to buy something that I would have regrets on. I'll never consider upgrading this one.

Probably more along the lines of a certed stone or not. Meaning someone graded it and gave a certificate

As a woman who had a very nice engagement ring, I still don’t understand the fanfare of spending a fortune on something that just sits on one’s finger. Most people can’t even tell if something is lab created and cheaper anyway. I just don’t like spending money or shopping.
