re: Paraguayan senator may have gone overboard with the racist language

Black soccer players in Spain and Italy still get bananas thrown at them and fans making monkey noises at them. Why do you think that is?
Oh yeah, he grew up eating coconuts and learning from chimps, she totally didn’t call him a monkey she was trying to say he was like Tarzan
If you’re going to be disingenuous in your arguments at least be more clever about it.

I agree with most of this. I don’t agree with calling Pulisic a cancer though. He might not be the tough guy people want him to be but he’s one of two players who provide 1 v 1 ability (Dest being the other), and we genuinely look worse when he’s not on the field. He was the first to admit he had a bad game. He has more goals and assists than any other active player and it’s not even close. So yeah, he might be soft at times and like many guys yesterday didn’t seem up for the fight, but a cancer? Nah.
NIL definitely exists in soccer but the numbers aren’t like what you see in basketball and football. Soccer is not a big money maker for schools.

Oates do you or anyone else have a direct link to these posts? A Shreveport news outlet is interested but need more than screenshots.
You’re too dumb to argue with right now but I hope that gets better for you because life is hard when you’re that stupid.

Which part is racist?
Maybe the part where she calls him a monkey growing up sucking coconuts and learning from chimps?

How is someone like this still employed in a position like that?
Btw I sent these screenshots to the caddo parish school board superintendent

I’m white, and on Facebook I got into an argument with a racebaiter who accused my entire lineage of being why black people suffer. This was an ER doctor. I googled her name and she was in an NPR article about how she was trying to help black people in medicine. I would hate to be a patient of hers if she really has this much disgust for 70% of the population.
I knew they couldn’t be on the bench but not even being able to celebrate with the team after the game on the field seems a bit much. I can see why this would be enforced for violent conduct though.
The total xG for this game is 0.70 between the two teams

Is that not literally what he did in the second half and did it not create the intended outcome until the 3rd goal?
More shots? Goals? No to both. Gio Reyna helped us maintain possession a bit better but otherwise nothing changed.

No matter the sport, this site is infested with pussies constantly crying about muh refs. It's pathetic
Have you been watching this World Cup? There’s been a lot of questionable refereeing.
Also complaining about refs happens in every sport and every message board I’ve ever seen.

I didn't have a problem with the decision. But I'm pretty sure the same thing happened to pulisic on Belgium's second goal.
That was one of the worst calls of the game imo. Two fouls on Pulisic on the same run, one of which was yellow worthy for a blatant jersey pull, only for Belgium to get possession and immediately score.
Yeah has this dude never played competitive sports?
When you’re getting pounded and your coach makes adjustments to slow down the game and gain better control, players calm down and play better.

I had no idea that a player receiving a red card could not celebrate with the team after the game.
Why is the head of security being punished for this?

How many actual chances did this materialize into? 2? Maybe 3?
Seven shots on goal, four times our xG, fifteen shots total and four big chances, plus complete domination of ball progression and final third entries.
Did we watch the same game?
It was clear to me that the players played below their level but when the entire team looks like arse you have to question what’s going on tactically. Good coaches are proactive and it looks like we fell right into Belgium’s game plan and didn’t adjust when it looked dire for us. I think you’re giving Poch an out here that he might not deserve.
This thread has really gone off the rails. Y’all got beef with Eurocat or something?
quote:
What is your specific said adjustment? Let me guess "we should have given CP the ball more in space and let him create!"
I don’t understand the point you’re trying to make here. Are you trying to defend Poch’s tactics? I don’t think getting the ball to Pulisic more would have helped.
I think we could have reverted to more of a mid block to decrease the space behind our CBs. We needed Tillman to be more positionally disciplined because he would get dragged way out to the wings and leave Tyler on an island to defend the middle. McKennie was playing in a free role but it wasn’t working either. We had almost zero shape. With Dest, Robinson, and freeman all pushing up high there was way too much space to exploit behind our line.
Now let me turn this one back to you:
quote:
Your eyes and ears must be a lot better than mine or you have an in with the team to say Poch did nothing for the entire first half.
What adjustments do you think Poch made in the first half? Did they work?
quote:
You can chalk it up to playing into their game plan but they still only had 5 shots on goal and I think 3-4 of those were in the first 10 minutes.
Sounds like you realize we were outmatched from the start? Something very obviously wasn’t working tactically.
Belgium had 7 shots on goal and 15 shots total. We had 2 and 7 respectively. One shot on target from the run of play. Belgium had 4 big chances to our 0.
quote:
The game was literally tied at 31 minutes. Yes we looked like shite, but you wanted him to panic and blow up the entire game plan based on a tied game vs letting the team try and work into things?
Yeah, it’s called coaching and it’s literally what we paid him 6 million dollars to do. Wm72 in other posts has explained it better than I could, but Belgium had a clear game plan for which we did not plan nor adapt. We adjusted very little overall and got played off the field from minute 1. The players sucked yeah, but this was an abject coaching failure too.
