re: 2025 MLS Season Long Thread

Sebastian Berhalter has sneakily become one of the best box to box midfielders in the league. Scored another goal tonight after a goal to go up 2-0 against Miami in the CCL.

Matt Doyle posted some of his stats over the past two months.

Diego Luna continues to light up the league with a brace yesterday. His first goal was great. LINK

[Caleb Turner] Pablo Mastroeni: I don’t think we can talk about Diego (Luna) developing anymore. He's the guy. He's the guy that plays with the chip on his shoulder. He's one of our best defenders. He's obviously the guy that's putting the ball in the back of the net. He's doing it all for our group

Hopefully headed to Europe soon. He’s a step above this league already. He was the young player of the year last year and when asked about how he did said he was disappointed and didn’t show what he could do

Here’s to hoping he doesn’t take a deal in Mexico and holds out for Europe.

This league has gone from not being competitive with Mexican teams to regularly beating them in competition. How can you not see the progress? You genuinely don’t want to admit anything good about MLS. It’s weird.

???

Anyway you admit you don’t even watch the league. I do. The quality has improved year over year, mostly from a change in player purchase strategy and an improving homegrown system. Guys like Reus and Giroud aren’t coming in and dominating the league. Giroud had 15g/8a his last Serie A season. He literally just scored his first MLS goal

We all know those guys are bought for their aura (and marketing) at this point more so than what they can contribute on the field.

Teams that actually want to succeed are spending more cleverly on mid career euros or South American players. See: Cuypers, Dreyer, Evander.

Feel free to google those because you don’t know who I’m talking about since you don’t watch the league regularly.

Atlanta has a great track record of this and has generally splashed cash wisely.

Tell me more about how you don’t actually watch the league.

still bringing in old euros

Aside from Miami this has not been the trend for several years now, and the average age of the league is actually younger than many others in our hemisphere.

The MLS season long thread gets like 15 pages

As this thread shows there are people here who would rather denigrate the league than watch it or even just discuss its actual content on a message board. I would be interested to see how many pages an MLS thread gets vs a USL thread.
My sister had a stalker. It was a miserable experience. She’s a well known figure in her field and had to cancel appearances because the guy was going to show up.

We tried everything. We worked with his mom to get him help (he was obviously mentally ill), worked with local police in multiple metros (guy occasionally lived out of a van). Most people were helpful but overall weren’t able to do much about the situation.

Baton Rouge police were the least helpful. They accused my sister of stalking her stalker (we came to them with a lot of information on the guy) and basically laughed her out of the office. This tracks with my experience with them in other matters. Useless pricks, the lot of them.

He finally got arrested after threatening a congressman. We had the restraining order delivered when he was in jail.

I have a family member who keeps going to the ER for horrible vomiting and dehydration but he keeps saying the Dr's are full of shite and it's just weed. He smokes every few hours every day

It’s a common thing to see in the ER. It’s a complex and not entirely understood mechanism whereby the lower esophageal sphincter is relaxed while gastric motility is decreased. Improvement of symptoms with hot showers is damn near diagnostic. We don’t know why some chronic smokers develop it and others do not.

Convincing these patients to stop smoking is unsurprisingly the biggest barrier to them getting better. 1.25-2.5 mg droperidol nips it in the bud. These patients unfortunately get a lot of excess radiation because of how histrionic they present. They have a very classic sound to their vomiting (more like loud, dramatic retching without vomit) that we call scromiting

Yes medical city is a trauma hospital but avoid that place like the plague. It’s corporate healthcare at its worst.

Definitely. It is a huge problem nobody wants to talk about. Many women's bodies get permanently screwed up by birth control pills. Their bodies can no longer naturally regulate hormones and it causes various level of infertilitiy. My wife was one of these women. We wasted tens of thousands on traditional medical fertility doctors before going the wholistic doctor approach and natural supplements that actually worked and fixed her imbalance allowing us to have kids normally.

Did the mean doctors tell your wife to exercise and eat a healthy diet?

I didn’t appreciate Bob when he was our manager. Now I do, in retrospect. Seeing people wax poetic about Klinsmann from time to time makes me ill.

Say what you will, but at least Bob’s teams played with grit. We were close to a QF in 2010 (if Jones and Holden didn’t have their unfortunate leg injuries I think we make it) and we probably should have won the 2009 confederations cup.
