$37,000 for the stone and $6500 for the ring. Round, 3.27c, ideal cut, VVS1, E.

I don't regret it at all, it is her favorite physical possession. Plus, she gave me a Patek 5711 so we were close to equal then but the Nautilus is worth much more than the ring now if we are talking dollars and cents.

She was with me. She helped pick it out. She loved it. We've been married now for 37 years!

I got engaged during the recession. I don't remember exactly what I spent, but it was a big deal for me at the time.

My to be mother in law asked if I would use the diamonds from her mothers (my fiancé grandmothers wedding ring) in the engagement ring. I said of course. Even had a couple of diamonds left over to make her a nice pair or earrings for our anniversary.
The ring truly is special to my wife for a couple of reasons now.
