4k in 2007. My wife wanted a simple setting and smaller round diamond. Was able to get a really high quality 2/3 karat loose diamond and had someone I know set it in the band which I also bought separately. Avoided a lot of the bullshite markup.

Too much, granted, my marriage didn’t last very long. I’m sure yours will be much more successful. Boy what I would do for the money I spent on that ring right now.

My wife asked for a 2nd wedding band for our 10th anniversary so I took hers to the place I bought it. Damn thing was like double what it cost a decade earlier.
