If hospitals put patients outside for 20 minutes a day I’m 100% convinced stay duration and mortality rates would decline but it would be a pain in the arse for the nurses and you can’t bill for the sun so they don’t.
They could certainly charge for light therapy, and in the age of LED lights the temperature and intensity needed for vitamin D production is simple to produce with low heat and in an easily portable unit.
Drs will screen for low D levels if symptoms, conditions, or medication warrant, but if someone comes in with normal D levels it will take weeks tp drop to the point it negatively impacts health. Now, the concept that fresh air and sunshine have a positive impact on mental health is a different story and could indeed have a positive effect on outcomes.

He is the secret on this one.
Just get your body drunk on alcohol to ease the pain as a dopamine while your body’s autoimmune response kicks in.
Just a little less scientific or medically studied than a cherry flavored cough syrup or a pill.

Our medical industry is fricked. I’ve been at the ER with my wife for 10 hours because her eye is swollen.

You must be getting hungry, since she wouldn't make that sandwich.

I think medical decision making guidelines basically assume the fat diabetic patient will never make the lifestyle changes necessary to be healthy enough without medical management

wrap up in a blanket and sit in the sunlight.
When I was a teenager 50 years ago, I got a bad case of acne on my chest.
My dad, who was born in 1924, said the solution was for me to get a bad sunburn.
Thanks, Dad!

My dad's cure for everything was to take 2 advil and drink some gatorade.
I don't know about everything, but that will prevent a hangover.

The sunlight treatment seems to work for me and my family as well. If someone is sick with a cold and light fever you have to go lay on the trampoline and take a nap in the sun. For whatever reason it works
Walk in the grass barefoot for 15 min. Grounding yourself is legit

The medical industry is the biggest farce. Their goal is to get people addicted to drugs.
And this line of thinking is why we make bank when they come see us when their home remedies do not work/makes them worse...

You're probably using it wrong.

Placebo effect works in 30 to 40 percent of patients
True, but with OP's example there aren't going to be double blind clinical studies. The common cold goes away on its own so there's no reason to run a trial. You can't control and monitor patient compliance for something like that. You can't set up much of a placebo because you can't do fake Vapo Rub that will fool the patient. You can't control for other home remedies like zinc, orange juice, tea. And the outcome is subjective since it's about relieving symptoms as opposed to reducing viral load to a certain metric.

There's only one way to use it and he was intelligent enough to read and follow the instructions.

Temporarily. But now I have "pre-cancerous" issues with the skin on my chest.
It is more than a hereditary thing, so I guess I can still blame my Dad.
Just kidding. My Dad was a great guy. Would have been 102 this year.

Waiting?
Pretty much. Ended up getting out of there after 12 hours, two blood draws with zero results and a CT that didn’t show anything. Overall miserable experience sitting in what’s essentially a homeless shelter.

My tee-totaling granny was a firm believer of whisky+honey+lime juice as a cough medicine.
