No, it isn't.
He is providing anecdotal evidence that says fentanyl, Adderall, video game and porn addiction are bigger threats to America than "radical" Islam.
What does your anecdotal experience tell you?

Ask the people of Broken Bow, OK if they are happy that this "2%" found their way there, and no matter how much they let their city council know, they still got their mosque/retail plaza approved.
You have your Oklahoma cities confused.
Broken Bow is a very rural, redneck town that is in the far southeastern corner of Oklahoma near the borders with Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas.
The story you cited happened in Broken Arrow, which is a high-income suburb of Tulsa. Two very different places.

He is right about all the personal stuff he is seeing as a problem. And we need to fix all those issues.
Problem with Tucker right now is that he has become dismissive of the concerns of Islam we should have. He has this thing about "well it's not as bad as the other, so stop being stupid over dealing with it" distraction attitude.
We need to be highly concerned over both just as equally, the just need to be handled differently.
I agree with all of this.

Why don’t you distill it down for us.
Young American males are addicted to Adderall, video games, and porn.
That is a much bigger threat to this country than radical Islam.
Is that distilled enough for you? Do you disagree with any of that?

That is not what Carlson said. This is the actual quote: “And I don’t know anyone in the United States in the last 24 years who’s been killed by radical Islam…”
Your quote and Tucker’s actual quote aren’t equivalent statements. In context of the entire interview, Carlson is clearly stating that he doesn’t know anyone personally in the U.S. who has been killed by radical Islam since 2001, not stating that no one has been killed by radical Islam in the past 24 years.
With that said, I certainly acknowledge that our personal experiences should not — in and of itself — preclude the existence of a larger threat. Just because we may not know anyone personally killed by radical Islam doesn’t mean it isn’t a national security risk.
To illustrate: I might not personally know anyone who’s died from a fentanyl overdose, but I wouldn’t deny that the opioid crisis is real. Similarly, even if Carlson doesn’t personally know anyone who was killed by radical Islam, that doesn’t mean it’s not a threat to our nation’s national security.
So we can certainly debate whether radical Islam is a threat to liberty in this country regardless of Carlson’s personal experience, but we should first engage with Carlson’s actual argument, not with a misquoted version. The distinction here is significant if we are going to have a meaningful discussion over Carlson’s actual argument.
Could not have said it better myself. Too many people here with reading and / or listening comprehension problems. Or just being lazy.
Having said that, his personal experience does not paint the full picture, as you stated.
Anyone who has read or listened to the full quote understands the larger point he was trying to make.

And I totally agree with you. Too many teasers, not enough action.
Fortunately, we have 3 years to go.

I have seen it happen in airports.
One time it was Jimmy Johnson (the football coach / TV commentator). He got really upset with a gate attendant.
Another time, I was booked on a flight out of Chicago to Ottawa. I was the last person to purchase a ticket. The plane was over-weight. It came down to just me and one other guy who was much bigger than me. They told him that he could not get on the plane, but I could. He lost his mind.

That is also why anything beyond very specific and limited actions, like targeting terrorist networks, should require a formal declaration of war. If we are committing the country to sustained military action, there should be a clear decision, defined objectives, and public accountability. Without that, intervention becomes too easy, too open ended, and disconnected from its real costs.
Agreed. But when people like Ron Paul, Rand Paul, and Thomas Massie bring that up, people laugh at them or call them traitors.

I think you are being too defensive. No one begrudges your financial security as a retiree, but it's OK to acknowledge that young people face a different economic reality than in the '70s and '80s.
Categorically false?
Are you saying that smart people in Russia, Eastern Europe, and China didn't find ways to thrive under communism?

Relatively compared to wages, I guarantee your house note even at a 11.5% interest rate is cheaper than today’s cost of housing. Not to mention I’m sure you refinanced as rates dropped.
Of course I did. I also traded up multiple times. Like I said, smart people find ways to get by regardless of social or economic conditions. I never blamed the previous generations for forcing me to have to pay higher interest rates. That is just the way it was at the time.
Also, smart people purchased properties when interest rates were low, and converted them into rentals that would provide them with an income stream well into their retirement years.
Should taking advantage of advantageous economic conditions be held against us? Would you not do the same if similar conditions presented themselves?

Well, it’s arguably the most important topic moving forward. Millenials and zoomers will be forced to remove a 100 year old entitlement system that was always destined to fail, to remove big business from buying homes meant for young families, artificially inflating housing across the country, forced to remove The Great Society and the disastrous family destroying handouts that crushed the social fabric all while being called racist and bigots, be forced to remove disastrous globalist policies that destroyed the manufacturing hub of the world, and remove Congress’ ability to get rich while selling out our country and putting the world before our generations and our kids.
So yeah, it’s kind of a big topic. Now saunter off to your cruise ship and your summer homes you bought for hundreds while we navigate a world of economic landmines you fostered all while being called lazy and entitled.
You sound like a socialist. Are you a socialist?
Figure out how to navigate in the here and now like smart people do.
Smart people find ways to succeed regardless of the social or economic environment. All I'm hearing from you is whining.

Because they have been de incentivized to work because of the bullshite policies that your generation have set up. Go to college and come out with a $150k in debt that you will never pay back, now go start a family and buy a $400k starter house with your $80k/year salary. Oh, you can’t do that, send your wife to work so that you can scrape by with a total household income of $120k/ year.
You guys had zero student debt because a part time job could pay for college. You were able to buy cheap housing. And most of your wives didn’t have to work so they could raise your kids without sending them to child care.
Yeah these kids just have no work ethic. I’m a Gen X so I’ve got no skin in the game and can call balls and strikes.
Yes, I was able to pay for my own college education through scholarships and part time work.
I paid that forward by paying for both my daughter and son's college so they didn't have to work. It was an investment in their future, and it has paid off.
Cheap housing? I bought my first house in 1986. 30-year fixed rate interest was 11.5%. You probably cannot even relate to an interest rate that high.
The bottom line is, smart people figure out how to manage in the here and now and not blame the previous generations.

I'm Gen-X and don't quite have the disdain for Boomers that some do; however, they had it pretty easy compared to what my Zoomer kids will have. A regular factory worker could afford a 1,500 square foot 3/2 fairly easily in the 70's and 80's. My kids are going to have to work twice as hard to have half as much.
The problem is, they expect to start with 3000 sf with a pool, not 1500.
I'm 65 and have never owned a 3000 sf house. I do have a pool, though.
