My dad was good friends with this little shite head's dad, so I was around him here and there growing up. Kid was always weird and kind of off in the head but we never imagined this was possible.

Oddly enough I rode the school bus with two, each for different lifestyles. One was your typical gang banger. The other offed his wife and one of his kids down around lacombe. That latter was named here a few years ago as one of the Angola death row inmates that sued for air conditioning.

I find it crazy some of you know multiple murderers, much less one.

I know several murderers from my work in the legal world. I can only think of one murderer I know from ordinary life. Guy named Burtell Thomas got into a scrap, went and got a gun, and killed the guy. I liked Burtell too. Worked with him. He’s doing life in Angola now.

Errol Hicks was a regular customer of mine. He had a very arrogant and controlling personality, and always open carried a revolver on his hip. Couldn't stand the guy. He shot his girlfriend while she was running away from him. Nobody that I know was really surprised.

Went to high school with two guys that layered murdered. One was a guy that everyone knew he would do it at some point. Dude was strange. The kind that no one knew his family, he never talked to anyone, wore all black clothes all the time. Weirdo! The other I knew well and was sort of in his friend group in high school. He ended up killing his wife and the family pet in front of his daughter then turned the gun on himself. Heard he had later gotten into roids and was always raging.

Sure did..Interesting story. Killed a guy in the French Quarter but doe not remember it.
He has escaped twice and actually lived on the run for 5 years under an assumed identity and did very well. Held a job, made no waves. Second escape didn't get far from Angola and got him in solitary for 8 years....He is actually a really good guy and it was all about being an addict. It's a shame.

Went to school with Tilden Harris since kindergarten. He’s the one that had his wife shot behind the movie theatre on Siegen Lane. That was a sweet girl.

My uncle shot and killed my aunt with his hunting rifle. He was buddies with the sheriff and was able to convince him it was an accident while he was cleaning it. No one with any sense believed that except for the sheriff so he was never arrested. Turns out he was fooling around with one of his students. Winds up getting her pregnant and married her a year later.

I know 2. They are both right where they belong, Parchman and Angola respectively....they should have both been where they are long before they ever actually killed anyone.

My son’s best friend growing up watched her dad get murdered by one of my college professors. The dad was fooling around with the professor's wife. The professor showed up at a theatre event intent on killing his wife and the dad. Someone else stepped in to calm him down and he was killed, too. The professor drove a couple miles away, dug a grave, covered himself with limbs and dirt, and killed himself. It took a voile days before body searching dogs found him. Those were an intense couple of days with all these police flooding into town to help with he search.

My dad knew a guy who was connected that did a bunch of hits across Southern Louisiana. Used to dismember bodies and put them in crab traps. Came to my christening. All I got.

I worked with a guy that shot his wife and then himself. He was an easy going fella, never would have thought he would do such a thing.

Worked at Sun Belt Plastics the summer after HS. Worked with a guy that murdered his wife and her lover. Drove to the bar, walked in with a shotgun, killed them both. He was probably mid 60s at the point I worked with him. He did it in his 20s. Served 10 years I believe. He was generally a nice guy, but he could flip a switch and old prison tendencies would come out if he felt disrespected.

Grew up knowing a guy in a very small town in Rapides Parish that was always a little different. Quit school around the 11th grade or so and showed up with a 22 cal rifle as school was letting out. Keep in mind this was WAY before any school shooting. He started shooting out the street lights on the street in front of the school so someone called 'city hall' to report it. Local town deputy (sheriff was home sick) responded and told the shooter to behave himself, stop shooting the lights and go home. Dude pointed the rifle at the poor deputy and pulled the trigger. As per witnesses, the deputy dropped like a rock. The shooter fled, was captured later that evening and spent the rest of his days on this earth in a place called Angola.
