As much as I will enjoy this, I think it is a poor decision. This is more likely to spur copycat killers than be a deterrent.

My father worked in Saudi Arabia for 5 years. They have public executions. There wasn’t a line asking “next”.

There's army regulations about who is allowed to witness it... What's most likely to happen is this ends up being a reason that it gets delayed from happening, because someone will be fighting claiming it's illegal to live stream

Maybe we shouldn't try to be more like Saudi Arabia

Assassin. How many Veterans will feel compelled to watch this then be psychologically distressed afterwards?

I'm not sure it will ever be allowed for them to actually show them shoot him on live streaming.

I think it should be live streamed. In my opinion, all executions should be. Maybe a greater deterrent would exist.

I respectfully disagree. I think it should be shown live in prime time on every network

Wasn't that perpetual loser, Timothy McVeigh's execution contemplated to be aired or on PPV?

Wrap him in bacon and shoot him with bullets made out of frozen pork

How?

Public executions were a thing for centuries.

As an OEF vet, let me give you a reality check. A lot of guys will watch it because that piece of garbage murdered 13 of our brothers in arms at Fort Hood on American soil. Many of us bled and watched our friends die in remote valleys of Afghanistan and get blown up by culvert bombs to protect our sovereignty from these brutal Islamic killers. We want to see his long-overdue debt finally paid.

Let me counter this:

All executions should be public. They used to be.

If we as a society, as a people, choose that man or woman's life must be taken in order to obtain redress, justice or act as a deterrent for abhorrent behavior, we must all witness it.

This is not ghoulish. This is the solemn acceptance of communal resolve and...guilt. If this is our choice as a society, we must all accept equal amounts of responsibility for that choice.

We must watch.

Now, if we cannot bear the pain of watching, then we do away with executions, but hiding the act behind a wall and dark night is cowardly. We made this choice. Bear the cost.

Unless they are killed like Kenneth Pinyan.....maybe a few might light to go out that way.

Why are we giving this dog the honor of a firing squad? We hung the Nazis because we wanted to show the world that these were not military men, but common criminals. Hang him and I hope the rope is too short.

Wait, are you saying that the result of witnessing what multiple 5.56 rounds does to the human chest cavity will be that people want that to happen to them as well?
