So, is it okay to air the executions of U.S. service members who were caught by ISIS while occupying Iraq?
You are becoming that which you claim to fight against.
As noted by many others, executions were public for a substantial part of the history of this nation.
Doing it in secret and behind closed doors with only "select" people viewing removes any potential deterrent effect.
Also, as someone who apparently is against the death penalty, you should be in favor of this because the likely impact is that the sensibilities of a soft American public that has been protected from such displays will be bothered to the point that the anti-death penalty side will gain supporters.

If anyone deserves to be trotted out and executed live-streaming its mass murderers. Nobody will give a rats arse and it actually garner more public support

While I 100% agree this man needs to be executed, I have zero desire to watch him die. I have no personal connection to the circumstances of his crime and I would get no closure from the event. Just do it, tell me he’s dead and justice has been served and leave it at that.

“We’re turning into Somalia!”
Cried by the same people who already turned Minnesota into Somalia.

As much as I will enjoy this, I think it is a poor decision. This is more likely to spur copycat killers than be a deterrent.
in the rest of the world, including the arab world, you see the opposite
i think its the right move to stream it

That could pay off the national debt and lower taxes. Trump Savings Accounts, Trump Bit Coin and the Trump Execution Extravaganza, directed by Mr. McMahon, on PPV!

Libs on X are doing mental gymnastics to make this the most terrible thing that’s ever happened in America.
Meanwhile, they vociferously celebrate abortions and the assassinations of conservative figures like Charlie Kirk.

Where do we sign up for the firing squad?

My guess is they show him right before it happens, then show only the officers standing by witnessing it while the shots ring out. Doubt we’ll see bullets enter a body, or the body afterwards.

Best thing that could happen to capital punishment is carrying out executions in the light of day and in view of the public. It is already tough to find a jury willing to convict another person for capital crimes, public executions will taint prospective jurors for 2-3 generations. This is why they are not public and done in private because the people who advocate for and actually carry out executions know that the public, despite the macho protesting that many will claim, does not have the stomach for it and it will be hard to find enough jurors who will convict when it’s actually them making that call and someone else. I know, I know, everyone on these boards would love nothing more than to pull the trigger, throw the switch, push the plunger….i get it, yall got to front, but the people who actually do it and work to convict people of capital crimes knows all of your message board posturing means nothing when you know your voice will condemn another person to die.

No posturing is required for me to celebrate the execution of scum like this. If I had been in on the decision to do it, I would have had no problem condemning him to this fate.
