You should see what loggers drive on out west. That road is perfectly serviceable for temporary emergency use.

Do Yankees qualify as Baws? I've lived in West Virginia and they are some good people but I don't think they qualify as baw.

A baw is an attitude, not a location.

But they don't use hot sauce or seasoning in their food.

armed guards

Weld some plate to the dozer and push the guards down to the bottom of the mountain, killdozer stle.

I certainly hope people there dont start taking shots at the fema people.

As worthless as Fema seems to be the people there could probably get back on their feet faster if the government would just get out of the way.

When someone slides off that road into the creek and a kid dies, the exact people criticizing them for trying to close it to the public will sue them for not closing it.

wtf would they need armed guards for?

If a government agency does that actually, people need to be legit suspicious.

They aren’t gonna seal off a dirt road with a gate and put armed guards unless they have a monetary stake involved in what’s in the area the trucks are driving through

I knew this was going to happen. I hope they go guerilla on their arses. Just some good ole' baws doing what our inept govt cannot. Makes ZERO sense, other than control.

Yeah I don't think that is what "North Carolina officials" were talking about taking several months to complete

True.

FEMA and the NC government would not have even started that road for a couple of years.

I put "baw" into my notes and apparently wrote this a couple months back

A Baw-dy song

[verse]
Well a Baw is a man who is not without flaws,
Yeah he don't give a damn about guidelines or laws,
Gonna do what he wants and he'll do it his way,
Doesn't care about Karen or her HOA,

Well a Baw is a guy, wears his scars tough as nails,
You know he ain't afraid of no bars or no jails,
But he ain't got the time, for the whines of they/thems,
And you're tempting fate wagging your finger at him,

[chorus]
Yeah he's just living life for his children and wife,
He relaxes with tokin' and liquor,
And he don't give a damn, but if you cross him man,
He'll take pleasure in bunchin your knickers,
But if you cross the line, he's inclined, to remind, you,
With one swipe of his big ol bear paw,
Why you don't mess with baws

[verse]
He might drive a big truck, or a used minivan,
And he don't mince his words about stuff he can't stand,
Well, he likes his beef jerked, and his steak nearly raw,
And if you do him wrong, it'll stick in his craw,

Some folks might call him trash and give him a bad rap,
Say whatever you want, he don't put up with crap,
Well, he lives like he loves, blunt and honest, but true,
You'll be shittin' your britches,
if he comes after you,

[bridge]
you know looks can be deceiving,
Things ain't always what they seem,
Yeah he might break out a hammer,
Even if he's still wearin' mom jeans,
Yeah it's best to not go messin'
Cause you know, he don't fight fair,
Just some friendly advice,
He's nice until you poke the bear,

[chorus]
Yeah he's just living life for his children and wife,
He relaxes with tokin' and liquor,
And he don't give a damn, but if you cross him man,
He'll take pleasure in bunchin your knickers,
But if you cross the line, he's inclined, to remind, you,
With one swipe of his big ol bear paw,
Why you don't mess with baws

A Baw he can come, from South, North or the East,
Or the west, where he's from, don't matter in the least.
There's Baws from every land, every tribe, every nation,
A Baw is an attitude, not a Location.

Those guys built a temporary road to a cut off place in a week. It's not an interstate or a permanent road, but it's a helluva lot more than FEMA had done since the flood. They deserve praise for taking initiative and helping people who desperately need help, instead doing studies and avoiding Trump signs.

These people aren't the soft asses you seem to think they are.

Airline Hwy and LA 3127 aren't safe either, but LADOT doesn't give a shite.

Why does FEMA feel like it’s any of their business if folks are using a road or not? This is not a federal emergency. If the state/county/town wants it blocked off then it would be different, but this isn’t any of FEMA’s concern
